So hopped in my truck yesterday. Went to start it up and had the Service Soon/Wrench light on the dash. WTH?? I put the truck in reverse back out of the garage, put the truck in park. Any ideas? I am a bit unnerved getting that light since it is transmission related and I have only 6300 miles on the clock. This is also the 2.0 EB.

Do you have Ford Pass on your phone? It should tell you what it thinks is wrong.

I do, said it had reduced power etc., though after the wrench light cleared I had no other issues. Truck drove fine.

Huh. Could be the battery going bad. Then again, cars are drivable computers nowadays. Could've just needed to reboot.

Yes, odd. Another thing I just thought of was the other day I got the notice in the app that my remote features were disabled to conserve power or whatever it says. So maybe my battery is having issues?

Our Escape does that if we don't drive it for a while. But if you are using it daily, then yes, sounds like a bad battery.

Looks like your truck has the wire harness problem that drains the battery.

I am going to toss my charger on it and see if it finds the battery bad.

Well that stinks.
If you had a hybrid, we would know what that probably is.
Without a code, no way to know. If an ODB II reading pulls nothing, then it wouldn’t have been a big enough problem to log; or happenEd long enough.
Maybe it got an odd O2 sensor reading, at start up.

Yeah, if you got that, then battery is suspect. Dealer can load test it and then replace under warranty

Tossed my smart charger on the battery quick. Didn't stay in charging mode long and went to fully charged and maintenance right away. No errors on the charger at all.

Hello! Send us a private message with your VIN and the name and location of your local Ford dealer. I’d be happy to see what I can do to assist. Thanks!
