Change it to a bench seat long box and I’m in even if I hate the grill

I'm glad that Ford stayed with the design cues from the larger F series trucks. It was one of the things that drew me to the Maverick in the first place...it looks like a truck.

I think that had Ford tried to make it look too much like a stylized SUV with a small bed that it wouldn't have appealed to so many people. I don't see a ton of Santa Cruzes or Ridgelines running around. I think Ford will sell as many Mavericks as they are willing to make for the next few years.

Ford sold out and has not run any advertising and no inventory on the lots. Imagine what they could sell if they had 20-30k nicely equipped trucks available on the lots.

I have a 3/4 ton diesel that I am keeping to cover the 10% of truck stuff the Maverick won't handle. For everyday use from a running cost and ease of use the Mav just makes way more sense.

I would not have been interested if it did not look like a truck.
Yeah this is my complaint on the Ranger. The sloped front end makes me sick.

I prefer that bumper to the actual, although as someone said the turn signal placement is off. If it had an optional winch....

Headlights....no thanks

It's not a blinker light. Where it is indicates a clearance light. Should be another in rear of rear fender flare in red to indicate rear side of truck!
Oh! It is such a weird spot still, aesthetically, replacement wise (part of the wheel fender) and I guess I like them within the body color. I don't think I have ever seen one like that.

It would look great in my driveway next to my Pontiac Aztek!
I'll pull up in my Mustang II and get my friend to drive over an AMC Matador.

Ford Maverick Would you have preferred this Maverick design? 1651290182754

Hmmm, if they would have went with that design maybe there would be fewer orders and I would have mine by now.
Yeah, but would you want something that looks so UGLY?

That image, I don’t like for a variety of reasons. But conceptually, I don’t hate it. I think if you decreased the rake in the hood, increased the size of the lights, made a more aggressive grille that descended to the lower fascia (like the current design), and widened the wheel arches and the black cladding, it could work.

Not better than the current design, mind you, but I could see someone preferring it.

Ford had to draw the Maverick influence from the F-series in order to protect the Bronco label, should the Maverick tank.
I’m glad they did - because it helped differentiate the Maverick from the Bronco Sport and also kept the very truck persona and look.

I would be curious what direction they take the C2 based Transit Connect soon to roll out.

I think at one point of the Mavericks development/design process it was going to be part of the Bronco family, being it is very similar to the Bronco Sport design even sharing the same platform. But at some point they decided to go a different direction which I really think paid off well for Ford.

I often imagine what the Bronco Sport Headlights would look like on the Mav instead, which the OP's image is similar but exaggerated. That being said, that front end as in that image is *barf*

The front end reminds me of ET, it should phone home & stay there!

No. Glad it doesn't have the homely Bronco Sport front either.
