X-plan stops you from getting Farm Bureau $500 discount as they cannot both be applied (See the Farm Bureau discount note on Ford.com) ...but I do not think X-Plan has anything to do with price protection based on order date. Lots of info here on Price Protection.I generated a PIN for x plan and they told me that I can't stack price protection and x-plan. The price protection I have is for $500, so maybe he is lying to me?
Is it up to the dealer if they want to accept xplan on this custom order Maverick or can I call Ford corporate?
Like you said maybe they can choose whether they will accept xplan though.
Yes, X-Plan is completely voluntary on the dealer's part. It was the first question I asked before I ordered. My dealer agreed to it and said they'd never done one before. I wanted to nix their usual $599 DOC fee and a $1000 "custom order fee" that they try to get from gullible buyers. I did it because while X-Plan only saved me about $850 and was documented clearly on the DORA I signed, it also showed the $100 DOC fee. I just didn't want to leave anything to negotiation. They honored it all when the truck came in in March 2023.
I took out a 4.74% 60 month loan (Navy Federal Credit Union) because at about the same time, I opened a 5.10% savings account instead of paying cash for the truck. Savings interest (and CDs) are still climbing.
