Didn't get the wiper motor issue recall, YET.
But I did get the recall in the frozen rear view camera image yesterday.

No wiper motor recall for me yet. I do have the rear camera thing. But it says "no remedy yet."

^^^ Geez, what an awful and pretty much worthless video, was he trying to set a record for "Most camera shake"?
I can't watch it. I tried to but I actually get sick watching this kind of video.

Since this is an inspection to see IF it needs resealing or replacement I bet they use an endoscope to inspect so NO need to remove anything. Just a guess. I have one and will TRY and see if I can see motor with it. No idea where to look though for seal. My phone ap says I need these two recalls BUT no letter in mail yet.

It's under the plastic windshield/wiper cowl (what you're calling the drain/vent pan) on the driver's side.

Hope he armorall-ed it😂

My truck sits outdoors all times. And it gets wet from rains. If that wiper drive fails, hope a dealer has another in stock, and correct one at that. Makes me think maybe I should remove that cowl and wrap the motor/gearbox with a Glad ziplock bag. Humm…maybe if that works, could be good solution to this issue.

Got Ford notice of recall on the wiper motor seal issue. Loverly.

Question - anyone knows where that wiper motor is located? I opened the hood, look near, under the firewall for the wiper motor. I just can’t see it. It may be hidden behind some stuff there, or maybe inside that drain, vent pan at the base of the windscreen. Or maybe inside the dash area.

I am curious of it’s locale to ascertain if a tech had to rip body parts off to get to it.

The other recall - of screen freeze up - may be easier to do. Or will it?
Looking at the posted video there's no way I'd want to try to get in there. I'll leave that to the mechanic at my dealership. I may try and look in there with my scope to see if I can see anything. Right now they are only authorized to check if you need it fixed, then if you do they will let you know when the parts come in. As for the freezing video screen that should be a simple computer upload by the dealer like the last two. I have to get my oil changed in Nov and hope they can do both recalls with the one trip. Not confident that will happen though.

The software fix for camera according to nhtsa is same version as 24s....trust me 24s are not better.
Trust you that the 24’s aren’t better? I have a 24. Mine works perfect. I had to google it to see what the problem was. And nope, mine does not freeze up.

Lariat ?

If so, it's sync3 which isn't recalled.

So trust me, for us with the generic system there will be a recall for the recall.

Yeah, I have a Lariat. Didn't realize there was a difference in the backup camera between it and other models.

I think that they do not mail out all recalls on same day. I have two Mavericks and letters can come 2-3 weeks apart. Would this be to help dealer scheduling?

The most recent dealer communication has the affected batch dates they're looking to replace

2. Inspect the back side of the wiper motor for one of these two Julian date codes (23169 or 23244). Are the first five (5) digits in the Julian date code 23169 or 23244? See Figure 1.
