Windshield wiper motor recall - done

Completed the wiper motor recall. Dropped truck yesterday at 8:30 am, service advisor called 6:30 pm, same day saying truck ready.

He telling me of other recall, the back up screen freeze, Ford working for a fix, for that. I said “yea, I’m aware”. And Ford laid off 400 software folks. He laugh, saying “just in time, ain’t it”. Others nearby laugh too.

Never one to trust others, Told him I will pop hood, inspect the work make sure all bolts, screws, clips installed, and test wipers, making sure their “sweep” satisfactory. He smiled at me. Could only wonder what’s going on in his mind. It all looks good.

So now on standby for next recall. This one, the camera freeze biz, might be a mobile service in driveway software dump?

I took my truck in yesterday at 0800 for the wiper recall and the dash rattle TSB. Got the truck back at 1100. They were unsure if I would have to bring it back as the pictures that they took of the wiper motor had not been "reviewed" by Ford to see if the motor needed replacement. Good news is that the TSB fixed the dash rattle.

What is the wiper motor recall? I have not received anything on that for my 2024.

It's for VIN specific 23 and 24 Mavericks as well as Bronco Sports and Mustang Mach E. Some of the wiper motors are missing a seal that allows water intrusion into the motor. My dealer said that they have to expose the motor take pictures and forward the photos to Ford. Then if directed the dealer will replace the motor.

They replaced my wiper motor. I asked them to check the battery due to battery saver mode. It always started. They said the battery was bad and they replaced it.
