I own a '24 Maverick Hybrid purchased October 2024. I hear a lot of wind noise in the cab while driving on the highway regardless of speed. I contacted the Ford dealership and asked if other Maverick owners had complained of the noise and I was told no. They asked me if it was noticeable. I wouldn't have called to ask if it wasn't. Does anyone else have this problem? If so, how did you get it to stop?

There is a significant difference in wind noise in the XL/XLT Trims and the Lariat Trim. I test drove both. The Lariat has an acoustic glass windshield that significantly reduces outside noise. The XL/XLT trims are noticeably louder. If the noise bothers you that much, you can have the acoustic glass windshield from the Lariat installed in the lower Trim models.

Some have resorted to silicone caulk, around the windshield. 🫣

I thought the noise was coming from the door/window area. Never thought it was the windshield. How much more expensive is a Lariat windshield and is it cheaper to get it from a windshield replacement company.

Not sure. I ended up buying the Lariat. I’m sure you can call Safelite and get a quote.

2024 XLT. I don't have any more wind noise than my F-250. Pretty quiet at all speeds. I even have the in-channel WeatherTech vent shades front and rear. No additional wind noise at all after installing.

It's definitely an issue for some trim levels. I have a hunch your hybrid XLT is missing this door insulation. My Ecoboost XLT is too. Open your passenger door all the way and you can see your windshield fluid tank!

I've thought of ordering the parts, but it sounds like installation takes some effort.

I have had a 2025 Lariat for a couple weeks now, I'd give the noise level about a 5/10, not great, not terrible. I've been planning on installing Dynamat/Noico on the doors as a weekend project. I feel the minimal time and cost will yield the results I can live with, as Ive done this to a couple other vehicles and it's always made a moderate improvement.

Try this all around your door and window seals
https://blog.steelerubber.com/the-dollar-bill-weatherstripping-test

Also as mentioned already, open your driver and passenger doors, look in around the front fender wells to see if it has the sound reading or not. You can purchase and install it if needed.

the lariats sound stream acoustic windshield does make a difference but it’s not cheap

Or live with it. My 2023 XLT isn't the quietest vehicle I've been in but it's a truck!

If nothing else, ask your dealer if you can take another '24 of the same trim level you have for a quick drive to compare and see if the sound level is about the same or not. No Maverick is going to be whisper quiet, but at least with my Lariat, it's reasonably quiet for a truck, and I'd have no problems going on a long road trip. I'd say the noise level is probably comparable to our Subaru Forester.

Others covered what I think are two of the main sources - the black insulation cushions inbetween the the front fender, [both left and right side] and the A pillar below the windshield. And the laminated acoustic windshield.

My Lariat is reasonably quiet at highway speeds. Until I open my sunroof.

You might wait until a rock hits your windshield and then pay the upcharge to have an acoustic windshield installed.

Edit: I also believe that the side mirrors create wind noise. I haven't read about a fix for that.

this is the best answer so far.

also, the 2025 models have revised door seals. I would be pretty confident those changed for good reason, and they can be installed on a 22-24, but no one has tried it yet or even looked up the service part numbers, that I am aware.

the lariat windshield is a pretty minor difference in my opinion. I am certain of this because I've had the windshield replaced twice on my lariat, and the first time was a Fuyao, while the original and 2nd replacement were both Ford 'soundscreen' acoustic glass.

for a 22-23 lariat lux, the bigger reason to demand the OEM windshield is that your heated wiper park requires it. (I believe the 24-up don't support heated wiper park.) I'm sure my heated wiper work because after getting the 2nd replacement, I remote started the truck several times with snow on the windshield and could readily see the snow melting where the wipers rest.

I wouldn't get Safelite. Their glass is typically slightly thinner than OEM.

I get a slight whistling on driver side windows at highway speeds
I used a stethoscope and can't find the exact spot. It is freaking annoying! Feels like a car from the 70s with wing window.
