Like another person said, it only autolocks when you start driving. I leave my doors unlocked a lot and they have NEVER autolocked when I get out of the truck. This was the case on my XLT EB I sold, and is the case on an XLT hybrid we have, as well as a Lariat Hybrid.
That's how mine behaves...

Thanks for the time info, Ford must have made a change. I hope it applies to hybrids too.

I don’t want parking mode, I want continuous recording anytime they are plugged in. I’ve inadvertently left 2 cams running for three days without running down the battery on my older Ford.

But you are right about the Hybrid, its 12 volt battery is notoriously weak. I won’t use the Ford Pass app, and I will turn the modem off in settings. With those power drains eliminated, I am hopeful that I can run my cams a for a few hours with the engine off. I might have to set the extended time in Forscan.

My back up plan, if needed, is to unplug the cams from the power point and plug them into a power bank that I will charge periodically and leave under the rear seats.
Yea even parking mode with a voltage cutoff on my Escape Hybrid sent it into constant deep sleep. FORD refused to replace the battery and I noped out of the whole thing for this EB Mav. I even tried it with no parking mode and was still going into deep sleep - even after they recharged it - TWICE!

Totally understand what you are after and I know some people do it that way. I'd still opt for a voltage cutoff though. But since it's essentially the same platform, I think I was lucky to get 10 minutes sometimes, and after very long drives it would get me around an hour and a half. Never once got the 2 hours I wanted.

Another issue was when it would switch to EV driving, occasionally that voltage drop would change the recording. I was constantly getting errors and short clips, as well as even entire drives where my rear camera wasn't working. I tried everything short of replacing the dashcam (which, btw works fine in my Mav EB the same as it did in 2 previous vehicles before FORD's hybrid nonsense). So... yea... just a disaster. That said - it worked better plugged into the cig lighter. No issues there just couldn't get power when the vehicle was off. That's why I'm so confused about it doing it randomly in the Mav lol. Make up your mind!

There are more threads on the subject here on this forum than there were on the Escape, but all the "how to's" I've seen seem to be incorrect for hardwiring using parking mode, and for your use, like you said it's all over the place. Anywhere from short to longer periods.

It's just never easy...

Sorry... thread hijacked
I want the 12 volt power point to stay on for a while. I want my dash cam to run when I park at various stores, and when I park at the trail head. I don’t mind mind unplugging the dash cam when I park the truck at home.

Just about everyone here in the forum was saying that the power point stayed hot only for 15 minutes after turning off the truck. I’ve seen a few lately that say 45 minutes, so maybe Ford made a change. How long does yours stay on?

I’m looking forward to testing it for myself when my Maverick comes next month.

Straying from the original topic, but I would like the 12 volt to stay on indefinitely and recharge from the hybrid traction battery when needed to allow me to use a small 12 volt heated blanket etc. when winter camping. Maybe even start up the engine once or twice overnight to keep everything going. (parked outside) Any way or setting to do this? Can I just leave it in park and in "drive mode". Not sure of the terminology or how it works as I do not have my truck yet. Prefer not to run 110 V out to the tent for safety reasons but maybe could do that also or add a separate 12 volt power supply if the inverter stays on. Does the inverter shut down at the same time as the 12V? Just got my vin last week. Thanks Brian

Not just Ford they all do that now lock after a short 50 feet drive or so. With carjackings as high as it is maybe that is why.

BUT it does remind me of a crash I was at. First on the scene. Head on collision at night. Before cell phones . One car was locked with driver slumped over. I had no tools as I ran to scene. Helped the other cars people as they were conscious and needed help Bloody mess.

The high voltage contactors that allow electricity in/out of the hybrid's high voltage battery (HVB) only close when the vehicle is turned on (not just accessory mode). Basically, the vehicle has to be running to recharge the 12V battery and provide continuous electricity to the 12V outlets and the 110V inverter (if equipped). When turned off, the vehicle will not recharge the 12V battery and will not turn on the engine to recharge either battery.

If the vehicle will be left outside overnight (not in an enclosed garage), it is possible to leave the vehicle on. Being a hybrid, it would cycle the engine on and off throughout the night as needed to maintain minimum engine temp, keep the HVB topped off, and provide any climate needs. Best to leave climate control, lights, and anything else unnecessary turned off. That way, you get continuous 12V power and the engine only runs as needed to top off the big battery.

The one caveat is that a Lariat with push button start will require you to go into the menus to disable the ~30 minute idle timer. That turns the vehicle off automatically if you leave it on in park for an extended amount of time. XL and XLT have traditional keyed ignitions so as long as the key is still in Run, the vehicle will stay on.

TLDR: to keep the 12V/110V outlets powered on throughout the night, leave the vehicle running. Turn off all lights, climates, other systems you're not using to save energy. The engine will turn on periodically to keep the batteries charged but will spend most of the time turned off.

Just leave the Hybrid Maverick in READY mode as in Truck in Park and the key turned all the way as if you are getting ready to drive.

In READY mode the 12V outlet and the Inverter are powered by the 12V battery.

The 12V battery is constantly charged by the HV battery in READY mode.

If the HV battery gets too low on charge the ICE engine starts to charge it then shuts off when it is at optimal charge.

Others have given some input on this... But one thing they didn't mention is that you can set up a schedule through the FordPass app to start the vehicle periodically through the night. I would guess that three 30-minute engine starts (standard duration) spread a couple of hours apart would more than handle recharging the 12V battery. If I were planning to try this, I would test it at home (with garage door open) by checking the 12V battery voltage before and after a "scheduled start" operation.

Note: I have NOT tested this, so don't rely on it when you're out camping, without running a test for yourself

There might be a way to turn it off. I have an older Ford that automatically locked all the doors when you put it in drive. There was some key on key off drill that permanently deactivated it.
My 2023 Maverick XLT does not automatically lock my doors when I get out of the vehicle. I have to push the button on the door or lock it with my key fob.

My 2022 Hybrid Lariat Lux does Not have autolocking doors, and I would like to have them.

Was this added on the 2023's?
I have a 2023 Tremor it has autolocking doors however I do have the Lux package like you have and the door key pad and remote start option with an extra full functional key fob. No doubt if I left my keys on the seat and closed the door and it locked I would have to have an extra key available with me if the key pad was not available. You do have the key pad on you drivers door? Maybe it is a 2003 change. Or you might be able to change the auto lock settings in the menu on you instrument cluster.

Stays on for 90 minutes. I’ve timed it several times as I needed it to stay on all the time for my brake controller when towing behind my motorhome. Ended up wiring one straight from the battery. At least my 2023 Hybrid does.

I have hybrid lariat. If I get out of cab and shut door with key fob still inside the horn double honks to let me know UNLESS I have the second key fob in my pocket. Then it will let me leave key fob inside and I can lock the doors. Also if I lock the door with the key pad I have been told that the key fob inside the cab is disabled until the keypad is used to unlock the door(s).

In my 23 hybrid the doors lock themselves a lot. The most frustrating situation them locking when I am not in the car and the car is running parked. I love In The desert it hit and I am in a construction business with lots of small jobs closely located to each other. I often drive from fro one to another and leave the truck running with the AC on while I go look things over or talk to people. After some undetermined amount of time the truck will lock its self running, in park, key in the ignition. I have to use the app to unlock and let myself in. If I accidentally leave the phone in the car then I am screwed car is locked and running with no way to open it. Is there a way to change this because it’s a very dumb design.

I am going to have to try this and so if I have the same results.

I've made it a habit to press the lock button on the inside before leaving. I've only had a few vehicles that auto lock now that I think of it. It's 50/50. I'd probably enable it in ForScan if I could too.

Anyways, I solved the Dashcam thing through hardwiring. It functions like it should now. It would be nice if it turned on when I auto-start though, but it won't until I actually start it.

Wait a second. Are some of you saying your maverick doesn't auto lock? My last 2 cars all did this. You drove about 30 feet and the power locks locked all doors. My current Ecosport does this my 2015 nissan versa note a low end car did this. I cant believe a newer 2023 doesn't auto lock. Or did I misunderstand some of you?
