Why Automatic Door Locking

Wait a second. Are some of you saying your maverick doesn't auto lock? My last 2 cars all did this. You drove about 30 feet and the power locks locked all doors. My current Ecosport does this my 2015 nissan versa note a low end car did this. I cant believe a newer 2023 doesn't auto lock. Or did I misunderstand some of you?

Standard feature to lock when the vehicle exceeds ~12 mph. All Mavericks should do that unless disabled. Some models support Walk Away Lock that lock automatically when the key gets far enough away from the parked vehicle. Maverick does not offer Walk Away Lock, not even on Lariat.

In my 23 hybrid the doors lock themselves a lot. The most frustrating situation them locking when I am not in the car and the car is running parked. I love In The desert it hit and I am in a construction business with lots of small jobs closely located to each other. I often drive from fro one to another and leave the truck running with the AC on while I go look things over or talk to people. After some undetermined amount of time the truck will lock its self running, in park, key in the ignition. I have to use the app to unlock and let myself in. If I accidentally leave the phone in the car then I am screwed car is locked and running with no way to open it. Is there a way to change this because it’s a very dumb design.

It's a very smart design. Cars should not be left running when no one is inside. That's how they get stolen.

Also if I lock the door with the key pad I have been told that the key fob inside the cab is disabled until the keypad is used to unlock the door(s).

I've tested this and it is Not true.
Left the window down and the key fob in the truck. Shut the door and locked it with the keypad(last 2 buttons at the same time.)
Gave it some time, then went back, climbed through the window without unlocking the truck, and was able to start it and drive off.

Just leave the Hybrid Maverick in READY mode as in Truck in Park and the key turned all the way as if you are getting ready to drive.

In READY mode the 12V outlet and the Inverter are powered by the 12V battery.

The 12V battery is constantly charged by the HV battery in READY mode.

If the HV battery gets too low on charge the ICE engine starts to charge it then shuts off when it is at optimal charge.

Are you suggesting parking his maverick with the key In the ignition?

Mine locke pretty often and having 80 acres to deal with I'm in and out a lot. Probably about 50% of the time it will lock. Saturday the keys were on the dash and the window down. As I walked up about 5 minutes after getting out, it locked. Most times it's only the drivers door. t goes in thursday for some updates and they are going to try and fix it.
