I was a "two bucket" guy for years. I started using a Griot's BOSS foam cannon a couple of years ago and won't use anything else now--for washing. When I'm claying, I still use a bucket with a synthetic clay pad and soapy water. Almost everything that I use now is from Griot's.

I’m thinking of buying this foam cannon. It looks simple enough to use. Spray foam on, let it do its job, then rinse off. No more washing by hand. What do you think?

I'm into washing my own cars. I find a foam cannon speeds up my wash process. Pricy, but I went with the gold standard of foam cannons, Griot's Garage the Boss, which the Obsessed Garage guys also recommend. Build quality and performance are great.

I have this one works great. I go over it two times if it's real dirty.

I got this one off Amazon and it stopped working after about 8 months.

This one is holding up better.

I was told to go this route by the detailing company that did the ceramic coating on my truck. Unless the truck is super dirty, I do not have to scrub it at all so it is less likely to scratch.

You don't need an expensive foam cannon to get great results unless you are a profession detail guy. I use a foam cannon and it works great but remember it won't get road film off your car or truck, it has to be mechanically removed, washing by hand or car wash. Pressure washers are great for removing dust and other debris . That's my opinion only. BTW visit "Pan the Organizer" on his youtube channel. He's the best and has tons of info on detailing. There are other detailers on youtube as well.

Does the foam remove your sealers or waxes? I use a wash/wax car wash shampoo: Maquiers Gold. It does not remove the sealers and wax. Every few washes I use Simple Green in water to remove oily residue. It does not remove the sealers or waxes either. When in a hurry my choice of working the suds is a telescoping soft bristle brush, that I do not use for anytning else. When I have more time I use a microfiber mitt. After rinsing I blow off the excess water, then towel dry, with a clean towel. It takes about 25-30 minutes to wash and dry my Mav.
The foam is whatever brand car washing soap you prefer. Car washing soaps in general are all designed to leave your existing wax untouched. If you are referring to Simple Green’s standard degreasing cleaner, e.g. their typical 1-gallon jug, it will indeed STRIP wax/grease/oil. It’s supposed to. If you mean Simple Green’s car wash soap, then no, it won’t strip wax.

You will still need to hand wash with something, mitt, brush, etc. The foam does not take all the dirt and such off just by spraying it on and pressure washing off.

I've been using one for about 15 years on my house. I mix bleach and dishsoap into the bottle and use it every year to clean the siding.

I've used it with an electric pressure washer and while it does work, unless you have a really good one with high GPM and PSI (not really possible unless going 240v) they don't produce great foam.

Disagree, it’s able to get more soap on the car. You just still have to scrub it
Wasting 3X the soap doesn't get the car any cleaner. It a solution to a problem no one had.

Actually, it doesn't take much soap. I put 2 oz in mine to do the bigger cars, Maverick takes a little less.

And actually, it does begin encapsulating and emulsifying the dirt first before putting a cloth or sponge to it. So a quick rinse to get the big dirt off. Foam cannon and let that sit 3 minutes-ish. Quick over with your cloths/sponge. Rinse. Fast, looks great, safer for paint.

I love it. Results are great. The right "chemistries" also help, but that also sounds like something you wouldn't spend money on.

I use one for my other car. I think it works great. You do still need to wash the car with something else (mitt, brush). The foam helps to loosen the dirt and grime, making it easier when you wash. Similar to the foam they hit your car with first in a car wash.

The Maverick goes through the car wash. I know a lot of people are against car washes, but it’s just more convenient for how often I need to wash it.
