Went fo Ford dealer today. Tech said believes Sap is it. He tried a rotary pad soft and some cream without results. Another tech his supervisor, I guess said Sap. First guy said come back Monday and I will try something else free of charge on a spot. What a nice man.I would still try to get to the bottom of it and remove it, but no one is going to notice that level of surface contamination on a trade-in. Most would just assume sap, or that some animal left some residue for you.
He also said earlier in the conversation that may have to sand it 2000, 3000 grade and the polish. Don't know much about that.
I thank you for your thoughts on trade in value or sale. That gave me a bit of hope. This was my first auto that was new.
Always had 15 year old problemed cars, meaning had to keep them running. So I saved 1000 each year for 20 years and bought the maverick.
