WHITE chicken pox marks on Paint, How to Remove?

Even after a thorough wash, your paint can feel rough to the touch. This is because microscopic contaminants get embedded in the clear coat. A clay bar works by shearing off these particles without scratching the surface.

Common culprits it removes include:

Brake Dust: Tiny metal shards from your (or others') brakes.

Industrial Fallout: Pollution from the air that settles and bonds to the car.

Tree Sap & Tar: Sticky spots that leave a residue.

Overspray: Tiny dots of paint from a nearby construction or DIY project.

tried Mothers clay bars and solution in bottle yesterday no help.
might sand it down with 3000 wet paper maybe 2000 and then polish it. What a pain.
I have friend who has some limited experience maybe go in that direction.
Only a bright sunny day you don't see the marks but at different angle man does the white chicken pox show up

Try 3M adhesive remover Will not damage anything. Ford paint is very thin so don’t get to aggressive with buffing or wet sanding

I did see that product while on the search for truth but the guy on video demonstrated it being done by dyi and it didn't work. but thanks

If it sap plain water no soap no nothing, I keep a spray bottle of water in my truck for that reason, it also helps if you have a few coats of ceramic wax 18 bucks nothing sticks to it.

If you followed someone leaking brake fluid, that will do it and if it doesn't peel the paint it will bleach the color out

I'm beginning to think more along those lines you suggested for the causing agent.
Possibly but not sure: Maybe i used Windex on windows and wind blew drops of the Windex on paint. Who knows?

Sadly, this might evolve into a respray of the hood. Then as a prevention have the hood covered in PPF.

What is unfortunate is I don't have the money for a respray.
I took it to dealer couple weeks ago for 12v battery and engine light about gear selector sensor.

Anyway they said they washed the car. About 4 days later when I noticed the spots.

Just checked 2 spots similar size, circular and whitish in color. Back by the antenna.
Thoughts.
When at dealer 2 wks ago battery. They washed the truck for me and about 4 days after I washed it myself and that is when i noticed the spots.

Have you been able to get a picture? Different lighting, red light, 2nd light from a different angle while capturing the photo?
You could go to an auto paint shop for a quote and they may figure out what it is. You don’t need to accept the quote.

Yes, ok. I will call tomorrow. I would like to bring it to the dealer because last time i was at dealer about month ago. After they put in battery warranty 12v and gear selector sensor.

They washed after I picked it up. About 4 to 7 days later after wash it and noticed those circular marks white marks, nothing like the bird due or other marks seen on video.

I washed it few times thinking eventually go away but didn't. can't say dealer accidentally did it by overs spray.

Can you "Feel" a texture...
AND... Do you have a "magnifying glass"...
I say this, to see what they look like up close..
Are they ALL roughly the same size..

Paint overspray would be a "raised" substance (tactile).
Chemical damage, would look "Feathered"..

The spots are all roughly same size. Ok, from what you said then not overspray because spots are not raised. All spots smooth as silk. Thank you for info.

Spots, about 15 of them. They bother me. Some times you look at hood and don't see spots other times definitely see them. The spots don't look feathered, their all circular and enter circle is full of white.

I can't afford to paint the hood. Cost probably 1000 bucks. The value of car not worth it.

Is there any use in going to ford under warranty?

If It was possible to remove spots by buffing them out with polish would they come back within seven or eight months when I may trade it in. How much will they devalue my truck for this.

Pic is the best I can do. See up right corner. There are about 15 spots more all located same section of hood but lighting hides them.

I am not a bodyshop guy, so I couldn't recommend the proper grit.

I have done a few online searches.. Most have referred to white spots as... Calcium deposits.
I will take another look online in the next few days and see what else, I can find...

Tape off a 2"x2" area with a spot in it. Wet sand 3000 grit, then do a 2 step buff n polish.
