When I open the driver's door, I hear a faint whining noise (like maybe a motor running) coming from the front of the truck. Anyone know what this may be?

Could be your Electronic Brake Booster prepping.

I thought some EB's came with that compared to older style vacuum.

The EB engines have an electric brake vacuum pump for the brakes, the old design will lose vacuum for the brakes when turbo boost is applied.

No, from under the hood. Someone mentioned it may be from the brake booster, and it sounds in that area.

This is when the truck is not running, and the door is opened from the outside.
🤓
i’ve had another vehicle that did that same thing, I was told it was a gas pump turning onto feed the injectors.
