Yes I am well aware of the green tab ! my comments are that the fuel door would not open from the dash button !
You opened it with the tab in the wheel well, closed it, then rechecked to see if it would open via the dash button?

Hi,in your comment i failed to regocnize the recheck ! i took to dealer without rechecking the fuel door , they returned to me okay , worked fine ! So I am confused as to what happened ? especially when i was travelling and got the notice on the screen that the fuel door was open , which it was not , then not opening for me ?? confused

Well - why open if it thinks it is already!?
Correct behavior.

I've seen this for years in computer controlled/monitored things.

System thinks a setting is a certain way.
But it's not.

Make the setting match what the system thinks.
Then it can control it again.

Or - "have you tried turning it off and back on again?" - since it's a bunch of computers.

The manual pull merely would have put the physical state to what the computer thought it already was.
And then closing it would hopefully inform it correctly. Or you discover a sensor or wiring is a problem.
Which it could be if it happens again.

All makes sense ! Now can someone explain why the warning came on my dash while driving down the road telling me my fuel door was open ?? but it was not !

Glitch, or wiring issue, or sensor calibration issue and enough frame flex it thought door opened.

You can look for evidence of rodents chewing on wires under the back side of truck.
Or let's not blame the poor rodents too quick - could be wire rub.

Sensor calibration - eh tough one, perhaps mess with slowly and carefully trying to barely close fuel door while someone watches dash.
Maybe there's a point where it just barely latches but doesn't show closed - until you push it in just a bit past latching.

The entertainment value in watching that fuel door being checked - make sure you video it, no need for just the neighbors to get a chuckle!
