Terrible! I do the same and always park away for just such reasons.

Honestly, for a non-painted item like that, I'm guessing it's not worth paying the deductible and you might be better off trying to go the used route. Truck bumpers aren't usually that hard to change -- I don't know anything about the Mav, but maybe it's an easy DIY fix?

I don't know, new bumper is $600+, install is probably $200-300. If your deductible is low enough... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Actually, plenty of people still leave notes. Some people are always gonna suck, though.

I always make it a point to park away from other vehicles. I parked far from tonight’s restaurant to avoid people hitting my mav- which makes the incident more disheartening. We were at the restaurant for little over an hour, and someone still managed to hit my rear bumper. I know the damaged could have been worse, but I have to pay a deductible, get a rental car (hopefully not) and deal with insurance (the worst). People suck. Hopefully the closed businesses in front of where I parked have footage of the incident.

Hit that with a heat gun.
Might pop right out.
Or help it by pulling with a suction cup.

Waiting for parts takes months and will cost and.

Nah it’s cracked near the sensor. I turned it in to my insurance but it’s $500 I wasn’t looking to spend right now

CHECK ! ........All places now have parking lot cameras ...go get the footage now before it is recorded over ..check any stores / security in the area ....

I am a physical security specialist and this is not even close to true. Many don't even have cameras that cover the approach the main door adequately, let alone the actual parking lot.

It doesn't hurt to ask. You might need to file a police report as some businesses will have a policy to release footage only to police.

The bumper cover and possibly the sensor is damaged and at least would have to be recalibrated. Not an diy...

None of the businesses have cameras, the ones that did, only had views inside and the sidewalk by the door.

Sadly, our Mavs are obviou not THAT tough… Hope you can get it repaired, they are so good looking!

The restaurant camera doesn’t show my truck. I’ll have to contact the businesses I parked in front of that were closed at the time.

What a hassle. Sorry you have to go through that. If its just the bumper, I would look if someone is selling one. I would avoid the insurance route.
