Where is the humanity??? Bumper damage

I always make it a point to park away from other vehicles. I parked far from tonight’s restaurant to avoid people hitting my mav- which makes the incident more disheartening. We were at the restaurant for little over an hour, and someone still managed to hit my rear bumper. I know the damaged could have been worse, but I have to pay a deductible, get a rental car (hopefully not) and deal with insurance (the worst). People suck. Hopefully the closed businesses in front of where I parked have footage of the incident.

Let's hope all OEMs adopt the Tesla approach. Leave your car in sentry mode and you have full 360 video while you're away. Given the sorry state of half the human race, it's the only solution. Either that or reactive armor.

While my VIOFO front and rear dash cam doesn't have the surround capability of tesla sentry mode I was still able to catch a co-worker denting my Focus ST's door with their truck door. I showed them the video and asked them to pay for the repair and they were a complete jerk to me at work after that. It should have been the other way around but hey, they paid for the repair.

Terrible! I do the same and always park away for just such reasons.

Honestly, for a non-painted item like that, I'm guessing it's not worth paying the deductible and you might be better off trying to go the used route. Truck bumpers aren't usually that hard to change -- I don't know anything about the Mav, but maybe it's an easy DIY fix?

The restaurant camera doesn’t show my truck. I’ll have to contact the businesses I parked in front of that were closed at the time.

It was Sunday early evening and there was 3-4 cars in the lot. I think someone grazed my bumper trying to park and left in fear getting caught.
Every now and again there will be some yahoo that has to park right next to me even though I park away from others.

I walked out to my Car and watched a Man backing into a parking space Normal size space with a crew cab f 150 Long Bed with a very extended & Ball low trailer hitch. I watched my vehicle being was pushed backwards. Dragging tires on the pavement. When the man got out I said you hit my care. Response not me. The hitch was still in my grill. Had to call the Cops Cut and dry case. Most of the time these folks just drive off. I was lucky he paid for the repair. My heart goes out to ya.

You have the VIOFO? How do you like it? I see it get mentioned a lot of places. Need to pick up a front/rear cam for my new Maverick so this is one of those in the running. Thanks.

I hope this doesn't happen to you, but I too got hit in the back (see picture) and the body shop has had my truck for 2 months now. Took two months just to get an appointment and it took them that long to get the parts. Once they started repairs, they discovered that a backup sensor was also damaged, and now they've had my truck for 6 weeks waiting for a part from Ford. Very frustrating.

Mavericks are like magnets, anywhere you park, someone has to squeeze in next to you. When mine was 4 months old, I parked 3 rows behind other cars and someone still managed to back into me. They left a note with all info and said "I dont know why I hit you, I had plenty of room" go figure. 3k and 1 year to get this fixed and an F'd up carfax

Yeah, too many people now days don't have good ethics, but bitch like hell if something happens to them!
