I ordered my Maverick back in September and still don't have an order number or VIN. I am getting frustrated because I now see dealers all over my area (150-200) miles that have '23's for sale to the public. What gives? Has anyone else had this experience like me?

Chances are the vehicles you see listed "for sale" aren't really for sale. A lot of times a dealers website will just automatically list a customers order on the site once it's been built/shipped. A handful may be actually available for purchase but those were customer orders to, they just didn't get purchased from by the person that ordered it. Good rule of thumb I use is if it doesn't have pictures of the actual truck then it's probably just someone's order that's on the way to the dealer.

Strap yourself in for a while and be patient, you ordered an Ecoboost so your chances are good that you'll get built.

You think that’s bad. I ordered in October 2021. Made a decision not to change my underwear until my truck arrived. 500+glorious days later I’m still waiting. I did turn them inside out last 4th of July.

They took an entire year's worth of customer orders in September.

You ordered an EcoBoost, so you'll likely get your truck.

But it might be a while.

You SHOULD have an order number (Order code), though, since that is set by the dealership when they take your order.

Ask your dealer what priority code they assigned to your order, also.

Yep . . . I can relate. I'm one of those individuals. Original order placed Oct 9, 2021. STILL WAITING!!!! However . . . I see light at the end of the tunnel. Just found out today my ETA has been moved up by a week if you can believe that. New ETA 3/10-3/18. Today is day 507. My Maverick is currently held up at the rail yard in Phoenix, AZ. At least it is headed my way. So my frustration has decreased considerably.

There are currently tens of thousands of people in your shoes.

A local dealer had two '23 Mavericks on their website showing them sitting in front of the dealer's building including interior pictures looking out at the building. The suspicious thing was that they were listed at MSRP plus doc fee. Called and was told that they were customer orders in transit and that Ford had generated the pictures and put them on their website.

You will not get a VIN until you are scheduled for production, but you should have received an order number from your dealer.
You should also have received confirmation emails from Ford and also emails at 45 day intervals stating that your order is important to them. If you have not gotten emails or received an order number it is quite possible your dealer never actually placed your order. You should visit your dealer and ask them for an update and verification of your order number and COVP.

Ford took an entire year's worth of orders in 6 days in September so your production might be next month or next August, no one knows.

Nowadays with photoshop you can't even trust a picture, unless you can drive there & actually touch it, it probably doesn't exist.
