Unfortunately, very few people use the search function or read the Owner's Manual. So the same questions get asked over and over.
Hey, I'm trying--and actually learned a few things from the manual!!

welcome to the internet! I feel like every forum I'm on has that issue. I think it's a lack of patience most of the time - people would rather just yell their question than spend 10 minutes doing some light research, bit weird, cos they're probably not the ONLY person to have had a battery die, wanted to put on different sized tires, or ordered a truck and wondered how to get delivery updates! I feel like we're getting dumber as a species. AI is helping...
People like to ask a question with their spin. Sometimes you get new information.

When you stop asking questions your not learning anymore. I'd be more concerned with that. To many people stop asking and assume they are smart and no everything. I get more tired of that attitude! If you don't like a thread subject just pass it by. Many of us just decide to stop listening. That is the real Stupidity!

I only jumped on the Maverick wagon in July, when my '08 Escape really started feeling its 525k miles...While waiting on my '23 (must have been a demo) to arrive, I watched a lot of videos, and it seems that the Maverick had far fewer teething problems than other new vehicle launches (I remember the original Maverick, and it was an unholy nightmare for the first few years). I'm guessing that's because it is based on mature components.
I've been driving my XLT hybrid for just over 3 weeks and am still having a ball!

I finally jumped on the Mav bandwagon this year. I have been following and wanting one since they came out with the '22 model year. Watched the parade of recalls and issues over that time and when the '25 models were announced it appeared they had addressed most everything that worried me. Jumped in February and have been very pleased with my long awaited purchase. Only one minor recall the rest has been a joy. So far I feel like I dodged a bullet with the '25 and that Ford seemingly fixed the issues. Watching the Mav history has been a lot like playing Whack-A Mole as the issues have popped up. I have no hesitation recommending this vehicle to everyone.
My first new Ford and they have made me proud. This forum has been a huge blessing.

The Hybrid should have almost no issues being that they copied Toyota's decades old system, including the eCVT. They should have done what Mazda did and just use the Toyota drivetrain and build the car around it, instead of making small changes and stamping Ford on it. Also just to be honest, Ford is number 1 in Recalls the past few years and all time since keeping stats. By the thousands. When especially buying a new design, or anything, it's important to know that. I paid extra for an extended warranty for the first time knowing that. 3 years ain't enough.

I do have to say that Ram trucks have vastly improved. from years ago.

It's taken 4 years to hopefully sort through the quality issues. Ridiculous.

One item of concern is the cost down the road of maintaining the Hybrid.
One is the Atkinson motor that will require lifter adjustment at some point because the cheap out option was solid lifters. A pricey deal. Reliability is not one of Fords strong suits.

And last over pricing in general, and of optioned vehicles that doesn't really make them better or tougher. But by the comments on here many seem to not mind buying reselling paying more the following year to have bragging rights.....lmao. Money to burn, I guess. We seem to drive the world's economy with consumerism and throw away items.
Thanks for the heads up. That's the first time i see anything about solid lifter adjustment on the hybrid. Oh fun!

I have been on this forum since Oct 2021, while waiting for my Maverick to be built. Lately most of the threads now talk about everthing from trading in Mavs, who's building trucks to compete with Mavs, etc. I'm happy that Ford, now has fixed the problems we have brought to there attention, that needed a second evaluation. Again Ford leads the way to bring to market, vehicles that the people want.
Curious though, if they like their mavericks, why are they trading them in? I plan to keep mine 10-15 years as I do with all my vehicles. Trouble free 2023, so far anyway!

I don't know where you got your mis-information, but the hybrid Maverick does have hydraulic lifters. Today, it's not a matter of cheaping out. What little extra they cost would be a negative compared to common expectation of maintenance requirements and lost sales. It might sound like it has solid lifters sometimes, especially when it's cold; that's just its nature.
Edit: I do stand corrected on this. The Ford and Toyota Atkinson engines do use a mechanical type lifter, but different than a standard mechanical system. Should go without service as long as the timing chain from what I understand.

Oh, you mean like how often should I change the oil?

I have a 23 Lariat Eco, 4K tow. Bought it used with only 3k miles on it. My previous vehicle was totaled in an accident (not my fault!!) Naturally, insurance doesn't ever cover replacement. So, I'm retired, I just wanted something to run around town in and maybe pick up a few things from the Depot. I wanted a Ranger, since I had one years ago. But, couldn't find anything. Mav was at CarMax. Have had no problems in about 30k miles (except the recalls).

Really, well I saw a mechanic review of the Hybrid with the Atkinson engine. I will look deeper.

I feel most of the issues have been remedied over time. Other than a deep sleep issue after 6 months, my 23 Hybrid hasn't missed a beat since swapping the EFC battery for an AGM. - I've had it for 2 1/2 years, it just runs.

Haven't even been to the dealer since taking delivery, performing all maintenance myself.
