People like to ask a question with their spin. Sometimes you get new information.welcome to the internet! I feel like every forum I'm on has that issue. I think it's a lack of patience most of the time - people would rather just yell their question than spend 10 minutes doing some light research, bit weird, cos they're probably not the ONLY person to have had a battery die, wanted to put on different sized tires, or ordered a truck and wondered how to get delivery updates! I feel like we're getting dumber as a species. AI is helping...
The Hybrid should have almost no issues being that they copied Toyota's decades old system, including the eCVT. They should have done what Mazda did and just use the Toyota drivetrain and build the car around it, instead of making small changes and stamping Ford on it. Also just to be honest, Ford is number 1 in Recalls the past few years and all time since keeping stats. By the thousands. When especially buying a new design, or anything, it's important to know that. I paid extra for an extended warranty for the first time knowing that. 3 years ain't enough.I only jumped on the Maverick wagon in July, when my '08 Escape really started feeling its 525k miles...While waiting on my '23 (must have been a demo) to arrive, I watched a lot of videos, and it seems that the Maverick had far fewer teething problems than other new vehicle launches (I remember the original Maverick, and it was an unholy nightmare for the first few years). I'm guessing that's because it is based on mature components.
I've been driving my XLT hybrid for just over 3 weeks and am still having a ball!
Thanks for the heads up. That's the first time i see anything about solid lifter adjustment on the hybrid. Oh fun! It's taken 4 years to hopefully sort through the quality issues. Ridiculous.
One item of concern is the cost down the road of maintaining the Hybrid.
One is the Atkinson motor that will require lifter adjustment at some point because the cheap out option was solid lifters. A pricey deal. Reliability is not one of Fords strong suits.
And last over pricing in general, and of optioned vehicles that doesn't really make them better or tougher. But by the comments on here many seem to not mind buying reselling paying more the following year to have bragging rights.....lmao. Money to burn, I guess. We seem to drive the world's economy with consumerism and throw away items.
I may do a thread on it.Thanks for the heads up. That's the first time i see anything about solid lifter adjustment on the hybrid. Oh fun!
Curious though, if they like their mavericks, why are they trading them in? I plan to keep mine 10-15 years as I do with all my vehicles. Trouble free 2023, so far anyway!I have been on this forum since Oct 2021, while waiting for my Maverick to be built. Lately most of the threads now talk about everthing from trading in Mavs, who's building trucks to compete with Mavs, etc. I'm happy that Ford, now has fixed the problems we have brought to there attention, that needed a second evaluation. Again Ford leads the way to bring to market, vehicles that the people want.
I don't know where you got your mis-information, but the hybrid Maverick does have hydraulic lifters. Today, it's not a matter of cheaping out. What little extra they cost would be a negative compared to common expectation of maintenance requirements and lost sales. It might sound like it has solid lifters sometimes, especially when it's cold; that's just its nature..........

Really, well I saw a mechanic review of the Hybrid with the Atkinson engine. I will look deeper.I don't know where you got your mis-information, but the hybrid Maverick does have hydraulic lifters.
