I was sitting here thinking the Maverick is already one of my favorite vehicles I’ve owned over the years past and present… so I made a ranking list of my vehicles. Mighty Maverick is #2.
Blue = currently owned.

Where does the maverick fit on your list?

I have had cars that are favorites for different reasons. It would be hard to rank them... 1970 Monte Carlo (Alice) with a hood that ran for a country mile. A bullet proof 1972 Chevy C10 pick up that was baby sh*t yellow. Ford Taurus station wagon and Windstar van. I had an 1970 something Opel Manta GT.. A/C had been removed, had a hand crank sun roof and when you hit 55 miles an hour the dashboard shook and vibrated like it was breathing hard. A 2006 Challenger RT named Betty that had a "few" modifications.. followed a Subaru WRX (Scooter) that ran like a monkey strapped to a cat. It whipped around deep corners like it was on rails and blew out of corners like a rocket. Sprinkle a couple of other trucks in there and an odd Mitsubishi Outlander that had a 5 speed.. let's not forget a Nissan 300ZX.. plus a few more sprinkled in between... On the whole I have really enjoyed each of these cars. The Maverick, named Bob the Truck.. is a great little truck.. Perfect size for my needs, comfortable, quirky in a fun way. I really like this little Ford.

Maverick is my car/truck #65. Plus My Rebell 1100 is bike number 41. I have owned beaters and nice one. Several I kept 12+ years while others only a few days. Bought new has not been many but my 89 240 Volvo wagon with 5 speed was the most reliable. I drove California to New Jersey and back in a 70 Chevy Nova with straight 6 and 3 on the tree.

I got 400 miles on my hybrid XLT and like it. Time must pass before I can rank it, it is unknown if I will I keep it long term (plans can change).

I think I mainly just remember rather than rank.

I love my Chevy Volt. I have often said it is the best car I have ever owned. The Maverick is close, we'll see over time.

Full disclosure - I have always (until the Maverick) bought used, and held them for many years. I am usually driving the base model, and my Maverick is the same in that regard. But what a base model!

Nothing will beat my Dodge Colt with a manual shift transmission. It was an 84 I think and was the car I learned how to drive in. Car was a total P.O.S. but I didn't care thinking I was Mario Andretti shifting gears. I've owned much better vehicles since but it wins on the nostalgia factor.

It’s been a lot of years since I bought a NEW vehicle so my memory is pretty foggy, but I’ld say it probably #1 or 2.

Definitely, been pleased with MAV so far. 2,300mi , 2.5mo.

The best vehicle I've ever owned, but it also the only new one I've had so that's to be expected.

My 1987 Nissan 300ZX was more fun, of course, but most deathtraps are.

  1. 2004 Yamaha FZ6 (but it was no good in snow)
  2. Placeholder for Maverick (I've driven one so I guess I can put it here)
  3. 1982 RX7
  4. 2005 Acura MDX
  5. 1992 Infiniti G20 manual
  6. 1988 RX7
  7. 1984 626
  8. 2009 Focus
  9. 1992 Nissan Hardbody
  10. 1980 Subaru Leone (AKA GL)
  11. 1978 Datsun B210 Hatchback
  12. 1995 F350
  13. 1971 Dodge Van
  14. 1984 VW Rabbit

The 626 gets special mention. I bought it for CAD $100 off a guy who had never changed the oil. I put another motor in it and drove it for 3 years and about 50K miles. I sold it to my dad who drove it for another 7 years. He gave it to my brother who destroyed it in two.

The Maverick EcoBoost is descended from that same engine, with a few generations of improvement.

My Favorite car was probably my 2004 Competition Orange SVT ZX5. It was 1 of 51. So sad I sold that car. Needed more room for car seats unfortunately.

2nd favorite is my Maverick, and 3rd would be my Focus ST.

I had great luck with all 3 Foci from Hermosillo. I put over 100k without any issues on all of them.

I’m not a fan of hulking trucks or SUV’s….The Maverick is the perfect, approachable truck that does everything I need it to do. I love hatches, let’s see how much I love having a bed!
