Was looking at wheel spacers to even out the front and rear looks. Other threads have indicated that ideally I'd want 15mm (5/8") on the rears to make them match.

From my measurements, The studs stick out 30 mm from the hub. My rim has 10 mm before the lug nut engages. Since the lug nuts are 14 mm, that means it needs 14 mm of engagement too.

option 1: a 6 mm (1/4") spacer.

option 2: a 30mm (1-1/4") spacer with lugs.

option 3: anything between 1 and 2 requires lugs being cut if there isnt room in the rim for them to fit into. (There isnt enough on my after market rims.)

I was looking at the option of longer studs or replacement stud but It seems like they're sold as an entire hub assembly so im not sure if they can be changed out to begin with. For a fwd maverick, changing out the rear studs at least have the room to do so but I'm not finding anything regarding them.

I'm getting some insane quotes to cut lugs and undoing it seems like it would also cost a lot more so are there any other options I dont know of?

Edit: local shops qouting $250 to $350 to cut lugs.

if our studs were m12, that might be an option, but since they are m14, those likely wouldnt work. The average hole size for studs is 5/8" or 16mm. There wouldnt be a full mm of thickness for that extra engagement area.

I use those "ET" types on the rear wheels (aftermarket).
you didn't mention what wheels you were going for/have.

They are Shift Spring Wheels. Just from the installation, The holes on them are pretty tight on my studs so I dont see the ET ones having enough room to fit either way.

you just don't want to cut oem studs as TugToy did in pic above?

only other thing i can think of is to bore bigger holes in the wheels to fit ET but thats probably more $$$ too (if even possible with those wheels)

My concern I guess is that cutting them even if I do it myself will cost just as much later on to fix it if it doesn't work out. Parts alone being $250 or so for 2 hub assemblies as the studs are not maintenance able.

Also I lack to the tools and confidence in myself to do this without messing something up.

Understood. The (crappy) pic below is of the Ford 18" OEM BAP wheel, sized for 14mm studs. It has .681" stud holes, and recesses between that could allow a stud to protrude.

Just something I noticed looking at parts, the AWD folks appear to have a maintenanceable hub assembly so they likely could change out studs. doesnt help us FWD folks though.

Ill have to pull the wheels again to check the exact size of the holes drill in my wheels. im not expecting it to be very different.

What are you seeing that makes the hubs seem to have serviceable studs?

was at the dealership, they were saying I could buy the studs so I'm assuming they must be serviceable otherwise why could you buy them.
