What went wrong with the 2025 Maverick Front!?

I don't mind the front end so long as it's the Lariat trim and black paint.

Black is the only color the grill/headlight abomination is even sort of OK on. But living on a dirt road in the heat of the South, I'm not about to buy a black vehicle.

And then there's the removal of the operate-without-looking, physical knobs & buttons for HVAC & radio. Not a problem for passenger operation; but for the driver, it's one more distraction to cause accidents.

I am feeling PTSD symptoms after seeing the Front of the 2025 Maverick which reminded of my reaction to the horrible Lexus SUV grills!! Did Ford hire Lexus desinger to buture the front!?! Whose idea was it to have 2 Metal paddles aim north towards the LED front light?! It looks like it was an after-thought to cover empty holes behind them (see photo).

I am not impressed and I doubt I will

get used to it.

I’ve heard that Ford is recruiting Tesla truck designers.

My passenger would hate the lack of knobs. I'm still trying to get her to like push button start lol.

All kidding aside in Black or Dark Grey, it's fine, and actually "fits" the Lobo with its different vertical lattice, the rest, meh; not a fan. I much prefer the look of the Ranger.

Not sure I have the abilities to do so here at work to render, but if the center section was wrapped in Carbon fiber or matte black it might completely transform the look on lighter colors and protect against rock chips, it needs a bar in the center though from the Tremor (I wonder if one could order just that to add to their truck).

I happened to see a 2022 Lariat yesterday with the optional wheels and I gotta say, those wheels still look great and its styled nicely. They made a minor misstep., but I applaud them taking chances, afterall it's just a grill people!

Nothing is going to help that MY25 front end. Just a pure shit looking design imo. Love the rest of the MY25 enhancements.

That's the only '25 Maverick front end that looks even semi-attractive.

The Maverick midcycle refresh team lost a poker bet with the Santa Cruz midcycle refresh team and had to do this as a condition of the bet? "If you lose, you have to put a glob of flowing snot either side of your grill".

Exactly! If I wanted a Santa Cruz I would buy one. Ford decides to model the new Maverick after the Hyundai which sells only 1/3 the vehicles. All they need to do is add a bunch of useless LED light in the grill…
