What went wrong with the 2025 Maverick Front!?

The extra flap seems useless, like the cubby beside the screen on my 2024 Lariat. If you look at the Ranger refresh, there is a little extra flap on each side. I guess the flap design team just like 'em.
OTOH, maybe AI is taking over Ford styling and while the flaps seem like an answer, it doesn't necessarily make sense to mere humans.

The void space is weird, no way around that, but like most weird things I bet in a year or so people will be used to it and not mind it or even like it.

Same thing when I first looked at this generation's Kia Sportage my gut reaction was "ew brotha ew" since it was so unconventional, but by now I don't mind its quirky design.

I am feeling PTSD symptoms after seeing the Front of the 2025 Maverick which reminded of my reaction to the horrible Lexus SUV grills!! Did Ford hire Lexus desinger to buture the front!?! Whose idea was it to have 2 Metal paddles aim north towards the LED front light?! It looks like it was an after-thought to cover empty holes behind them (see photo).

I am not impressed and I doubt I will

get used to it.

It looks like what Jack Nicholson said about what the police do in Chinatown- as little as possible. To me, it looks like to pretend to update the styling the covered up the bottom of the headlight assembly with color-corrected duct tape. Low effot and poorly executed.

The new front end has grown on me a little since we saw the first spy photos of it, but I still prefer the 22-24 front end. However, when I happened to see the below photo of a Ranger, I finally saw the family resemblance and perhaps what the designers were trying to do. I just think it looks much better on the ranger because it’s beefier and not body colored.

I realize many don't like the new front-end, but I actually like it better than the 22-24. I think it looks more truck-like and f-150ish. The new headlight housings are smaller and the grille is bigger. I'm going to order one next week when my sales guy is back from vacation.

IMO, it looks less truck-like and more SUV-ish. But the biggest fugliness of it is, it looks like a dis-jointed and tacked-on trim piece that breaks up the uncluttered styling of the current Mavericks.

I can't say it any other way than anybody else. Just ugly. The bumper piece and boomerang headlights really turn it off for me. Also, getting rid of the bar that runs atop the grille and cuts into the headlights. That's what made the front end cool and distinct. It was a great design that most people can agree on.

Now, it almost looks as if the front end got into a collision and that's the design they chose. It's especially prominent on Eruption Green and Velocity Blue. I am glad they're offering those colors but not for the expense of that ugly front end. Not to mention the lack of physical climate controls. I'm 26 and even I appreciate physical dials and switches. I only say this since many who complain about that lean towards the older demographics. This just goes to show that even youngsters don't like digital buttons.

It's growing on me. I like that the grill is larger and head lights a little smaller. I think the new bumper looks very good with the lariat, tremor and lobo lights! It seems it's a play on the Rangers front bumper.

That front headlight panel looks terrible. It looks so cheap. out of all the ideas they could have come up with and ideas that did come out that is bad. It looks like they just took a piece of plastic and stuck it up there. I'm all about style and new ideas but I'll stick with my 23 for now!
