One of the best things I ever did was to remove everything in the garage for a heavy-duty reorganization. Decided never to have anything in it that wasn't a vehicle that would take up floor space where a vehicle could otherwise be. Hung a ton of cabinets on the walls, but AVOIDED FLOOR CABINETS which would take up valuable floor space. Any side cabinets near car doors are wall-mounted above head level (long-term storage) to allow doors to open and to stand/exit the vehicle under them. Lawn tractor sits outdoors under a good thick camo ATV cover until the day where I eventually decide to put up a utility shed.
You can also buy wire racking that hangs from the ceiling for additional storage which lets you use the otherwise-wasted space above the garage door when it's in its open position. All this allows protection for my vehicles from the elements, and the one-time effort is worth it. And I don't ever want to scrape snow & ice off a windshield again if I can help it.
So many people let junk storage take over the garage when your vehicles deserve that space more.
