Quickjacks, I don't use ramps because if I'm doing an oil change, I'm rotating the tires, inspecting the brakes and a general under carriage inspection.

The ones harbor freight sells. Durable, cheap, easy.
I hang them on the wall in the garage.

4 polymer ramps I use for all vehicles off of amazon. Lifts out 6-8" keeps it level.

Rhino ramps max (16,000 pound GVW) from Advance Auto + jack stands and wheel chocks.

Did the first oil change today and installed a Rival skid plate. Oil going to Blackstone for testing.
Photos of the skid plate please.
How hard was the install?
Can you now do an oil change without removing the new skid plate?

The install instructions are in the product listing on the Rival web site . I installed the plate for the hybrid (the Tremor is different plate). The non-Tremor plate mounts at four points using M6 nuts with an attached wire and M6 bolts.

First, figure out where those four points are - the pictures in the instructions are little small and dark. You bend the M6 nut wire per the instructions and fish it into one hole in the Maverick so the nut part is visible in adjacent hole. For the rear points, you can use the wire to hold the nut down and screw the bolt into the nut. The plate slides on those two rear mount bolts.

The problem in the front mounting points. After sliding the plate onto the rear mounts, you position the plate and push the bolts through the plate and screw into the M6 nuts. I found the nut wire inaccessible from beneath the plate and had no way to hold the nut down. After several attempts when the bolt just pushed the nut up, I fished a zip tie into the holes and secured the nut. After that, it was easy to screw the bolt into the nut.

Another problem - for the front mount , the instructions show an oval hole next to the hole where the nut is positioned. You fish the nut through the oval hole. That worked on the passenger side. However, on the driver side, that hole was round and the nut does not fit through it. I went reverse and fished the nut wire first into the nut hole and got the wire through the small round hole.

Looking at the pictures on the Rival web site, I believe the Tremor plate front mounts are easier.

The oil change and the plate install took about 3 hours. If I had to do it again (after trial and error), the plate install would probably take about an hour.

According to pictures on Rival's site, you should be able to access the oil plug and filter without having to remove the plate. I did not remove the access plates to check - that's for the next oil change. I did put super lube on the access plate screws as suggested by a post on this site.

Sold my steel ramps and use the Lynx Levelers stored in my motorhome. Rated for motorhome weight and shallow enough angle for my lowered Mustang. Have enough for another 2 inches. A set of steel folding stop chocks to finish.

Ford Maverick What ramps are folks using to change oil ? lynxramps

I use the Stealership to do my oil, I'm over working on vehicles. I decided this after I turned 70 a few years ago.

Thank you for such a detailed description on installing the skid plate. This was just what I was looking for. Sounds like the Rival skidplate can be installed by most people using your suggestions for getting the nuts in place and keeping them there.

Steel ramps. Due to low front clearance, I place them behind the front wheels instead of in front.

Not near my first oil change yet, but what plastic ramps have people used to change oil ?
I bought some Race Ramps back around 2003 for my MACH 1.
Still use them, well worth the money.

Currently at 70 and still doing my own oil changes. I‘ve done 3 on my Maverick so far. I just put it up on jack stands, had a bad experience using some homemade ramps that my Dad made many years ago!! lol
