Talked to a couple of Ecoboost owners who paid 5k over. They both said it's in the driveway and they didn't have to wait "forever" to get one. I replied my hybrid wait was a long year while conceding that they also have zero buyer's remorse.
$5k over? That would have bought a lot of gas. I paid msrp for the 2 Mavs on my videos. Oh and a $85 doc fee on each.

2023 Cactus Gray Hybrid XL, SIBL and Pilot 360 arrived 5/10/23, ordered 9/19/22. After riding in the truck the most common remarks I get from riders is that they can’t believe how little it costs and how long I waited for it. The Maverick replaces a 2012 Mazda 5, purchased new for $18000 (not including tax, etc). Taking into account inflation the Maverick is lower priced but much more vehicle. Reading MaverickTruckClub daily and tracking my build for almost 8 months I was beginning to wonder if my expectations were so high that the actual truck might be a disappointment. That is not the case at all. So far it has met or exceeded my expectations, worth the wait. Time will tell if it matches the reliability of the Mazda (160000 low maintenance miles).
I love mine too....could not be more pleased with it in every way!! I've owned F-150s, old style Rangers, and one new style Ranger, but the Mav is the best of all worlds!

In today's dollars most people are going to make and spend a couple of million over their lifetime so $5000 or $10,000 is not going to make any difference. Beyond your basic needs you earn money to buy what you like. For some people it is houses, vacations, clothes, jewelry, art, etc. but if a car or truck is what makes you happy spend the money. I enjoyed researching my Maverick and even though I waited since September even that was okay because it gave me time to learn about it. So far I'm really enjoying it and now I go out for rides just for fun.

I've added TuxMats, Line-X, and a motorola dongle so my android auto is wireless and connects automatically. Really enjoying Sirius also- have never had it.

Couple of points to make here...

1. People make claims that you never make up for the additional cost of a hybrid over a non hybrid.

In general if given the choice of spending say 22 grand for a non hybrid Corolla, verses say 27 grand for a hybrid corolla ( I am making up numbers here, I think the price increase for hybrid corolla is less )... The hybrid won't likely save you money overall just based on better MPG until well past 100,000 miles, possibly may take even double that to " break even ". BUT.... go shop around for a 5-10 year old hybrid vehicle today. Look for as an example, a hybrid Toyota Camry... Compare the price of a used 2012-2015 hybrid camry to a 2012-2015 non hybrid camry. You will see that the hybrid version of this car is much more expensive to buy used, more desirable and less of them on the market to drive down pricing.

Taking into consideration that the resale value of used hybrids is often and likely will continue to be higher than non hybrids, the additional cost of buying the hybrid new is mute. And so then yes, the hybrid saved you money for you on fuel costs during your ownership.

I think 5-10 years ago, even 15 years ago... Hybrids actually had poor resale value, because people were worried that you would have a expensive battery to replace at 100,000 miles. But I think time has proven that oftentimes the batteries in most hybrid cars CAN last double that or even beyond. And additionally, there are aftermarket battery solutions that can refurbish or replace a bad battery for a fraction of the cost of a new OEM battery. So now a days on the used market, used hybrids are very desirable.

2. Someone compared Toyotas to Hyundai. I am not sure what rock you live under, but even still to this day... Toyota maintains a much better resale value on the used market than a hyundai.

I love my Mazdas, and I hope the Maverick matches the Mazda reliability. It should be similar to the Mazda 2.0L engine, but improved. I’m not sure on that though.

I am glad you like it!
I ordered mine 4 days before you and all I have are empty promises.

I have an eco boost and I’m happy with the mileage around 29.5 in eco mode. My 23 hybrid is scheduled for production but still on the fence about selling the eco boost
We are in the same boat. Our eco boost now reads 30.2 mpg but when we set in a restaurant line it will drop a bit. We have a built date on a 2023 hybrid lariat for the last week in June. I hate to let the eco boost go, but our son has put a claim on it.
