As stated, cargo bed light. I ran the battery down once, and think it was because I accidently pushed it when I was refueling with cloves on and then left it on for a couple of days. Dealer checked everything for battery drain - nothing - and it has never happened again.

Thanks for the Bed Light button.

I really like the Maverick, BUT................looking for the mystery "bed light" button was like an Easter egg hunting.

It has the WORST Operator's Manual I have ever seen. The problem is FORD is trying to create one manual for all MODELS (Hybrid, Lariat, EcoBoost, etc.) all in one manual and that makes it hard to find anything or you find what you are looking for, but the instruction/feature is for another model that does not apply to you.... instrument buttons vary by each Model.

The Adobe PDF search function in the manual is a very powerful feature but pretty useless in the Maverick Manual: I searched the manual for "Instrument Panel", "dash buttons", "rear light", "bed light", "bed light button", and found nothing. You would think there would be a page for console(dash), Instrument buttons, but nope not there.

Searching should not be that hard. As a software developer, it would not be that monumental to have software where all users enter their model's name (like Hybrid) and have the manual display just the Hybrid instructions. Or Ford could provide an editable format that users could delete those sections not applicable to their model.

Looked at the manual to see if the "bed light" defaults back to off when you turn the engine off, but no luck finding it.

2024 Mav XLT hybrid w sunroof. There is a little button just above the gas filler door button on the left dash, to left of control for lights.
Cannot find any description in the manual. There is a an outline of the side of the truck on the button. Pushing the button does nothing discernible that I can tell. Not real happy with the manual, by the way, for several reasons.

Anyone know what it is for? thanks - I'm not good at attachments
I never tried it? Now I’m gonna wear it out!😂

I agree on the manual when I try to reset the oil couldn’t find Jack on it. Because the menu was all the way at the bottom and it didn’t look that way until you look to the right and see the bar is all the way down on menu screen.

Darn it, I thought it was the optional "rocket launcher". I figured the Taliban would be buying these these like crazy!!

30 years as an engineer. Oddly, I was an English Literature major in university. The one thing I learned is that engineers of all types loath, absolutely loathe, documenting anything. You have to pull teeth to get them to write even indecipherable documentation.

If you're talking about the Oil Life Monitor, when you view in the instrument cluster, it tells you how to reset the monitor by holding the OK button.

It was bad enough to have to pull the diesel around back to furtively fill the pee tank, but now I have to find a supplier of live jellyfish in the desert???

:eek::crazy:

Son of a Bitch....I've been sitting in the bed waiting for the shower to come on. Nothing......
Yeah, that's what they all say when the Sherrif arrests them for indecent exposure . . .

You, sir, clearly don't buy enough cheap Chinese junk!

Wait till you see some of the dash symbols pop up. Have a look at the manual, there must be three page just for these!
