Anyone know that this button is for?

My wife was driving and I was exploring the new Mav and played with that button as we were traveling on a highway down a long steep hill. It didn't turn on until we hit a stoplight at the bottom of the hill and then the truck started lurching at the stop like I've read about here. I noticed that the auto stop had turned on at the stop (like it is supposed to do) but caused the truck to start lurching at the stop (like it is NOT supposed to do). I wonder if people complaining about lurching at stops have that button ON??

I had to Google it for you, I have a hybrid that does NOT have that button. That lets you turn off and on the auto engine shut-off at a stop. If you want to leave you engine RUNNING then set that button to OFF.

I agree %. I never knew I missed it. I love this feature and will insist it be on every vehicle I own in the future!! If you travle in an urban area, it's a must have!

I had a similar experience at a car wash. I may have unknowingly touched the brake and just don't recall doing it. It was an anxious couple of seconds!. I reached down and hit the brake auto brake button, all qcured. Just remember to turn back on!

I never use it, however my daughter uses it in her 22 Bronco Sport and my son uses it in his 24 Escape. They try to get me to change, but I'm over 50 and stuck in my ways...lol! I did however get both of my kids acclimated to disabling the auto start/stop.

Yep you turn the automatic shutoff on to shut off the engine.
