Normal, because that is what it defaults to. If we are doing a ton of interstate driving, I'll flip it over to Eco but put it in Sport when we get to city centers so I have the power to escape stupid situations. I'll use tow when towing a trailer and I always put it in "Slippery" mode when the roads get wet.

I did 18.5MPG while towing a trailer in tow mode with combined cargo weight of roughly 2,000 lbs while my kids used the the 400W inverter in the back seat with temps in the 80s and climbing. I felt that was respectable.

I otherwise average just under 30MPG on the interstate. Driving around town, the auto start/stop does reduce the amount of fuel being burned. Especially if, like me, your journey can go exponentially based on the number of red lights you hit.
I do like the driving experience using normal but have always used eco. I used to commute 140 miles a day on my old car a crz using eco. Old habits die hard.

I use ECO all the time in my FWD EB. Currently averaging 30 MPG on rural 2 lane highways with a pinch of city driving.

Tuned the AFE Ratio to get the dash computer to read accurately and match my Fuelly log.

What entails tuning the afe ratio? Are you running a chip?

I'm getting 29mpg city driving (though half of mine is on a freeway) and 35 highway driving. Normal mode, no 4k tow package.

I have a 22 ecobost awd with the tow package. Got 6 k on her now and have always used the eco mode. I frive mostly on rural roads and highways. Very little city stop and go. Getting 29 mpg. Was wondering if eco mode is actually saving me anything? Wonder what others use.
I have a hybrid and I have been using Eco also. A little less power than Normal but traveled to New Jersey from Massachusetts and got 44.4 mpg. When I want speed and power I use Sport mode. It only uses the engine.

Not bad thought hybrids advantage is in city driving. But looks like some highway advantages too. But 95 to NJ from MA can be stop and go too. Unless you took 84 or another way.

I spend a fair bit of time on the interstate where it's posted 75 mph, and so it's not uncommon for traffic to be going 80-85. At that speed on flat ground, a typical Maverick hybrid gets in the low 30s. 32-34 mpg. At 85, that's nothing to sneeze at, but a typical ecoboost AWD Maverick gets 26-28ish, assuming it isn't a Tremor (or the owner installed real all-terrain tires like the Tremor comes with).

So, I get it when some say the hybrid is worth 15-20+ MPG over an ecoboost. It could be in urban traffic. But it wouldn't be for me.

Depends how long the drive and how fast. There is one run I do over 60+ miles almost all at around 55 mph since that is the speed limit on the US highways here that I average 38 - 42 MPG using eco mode that usually is a 30 - 33 MPG trip without eco mode. Short runs like 5 miles or less or stop and go traffic will drop the difference between the drive modes to 1 MPG.
