I ordered a 2025 XLT hybrid with a build date December 16. This will be my first Ford in decades. Right now I have an Iphone 13 mini and use CarPlay every time in the car. I have never seen Sync 4. Has anyone used it? What does everyone think?

I've used 3 for so long, I'm used to it. This is a vid of Sync 4 in an Escape, should be pretty much the same. The one thing I do not like is climate control on the screen. I'm old school and like some buttons and knobs.

I have the sync 3 in my maverick, never had any issues, like it fine. Just bought wife a new expedition that has the sync 4, seems fine to me. It has a massive screen I don't care for, good that I don't drive it much.

My wife has Sync 4 in her '24 Edge, the navigation w/her iPhone works great, I miss the physical HVAC & radio controls.

I've been using Sync4A for last two years and really like it. The "A" just refers to a vertical orientation versus horizontal. IMO Ford has done a great job over the past two years making the UI much more fluid and useable. Not that version 4.2.2 that shipped with the vehicle was bad but the latest version(6.14)is a lot better.

While you do loose physical buttons for certain things like climate control the bright spot is that the most used climate controls have always remained static on the screen. That means things like heated seats, heated steering wheel, and temperature adjustment always stay in the same place and are always visible on the screen. That means there is no digging through menus to find them.

Radio and streaming music controls are very similar on version 6.14. While there are no physical buttons on the central control stack you do have physical controls on the steering wheel. That makes it super easy to change channels or skip to the next track if you are streaming.

I'm an Android guy so the wireless AA and the benefits that come with it are really useful. From Google maps to other apps I can't complain. I'm an Amazon Music subscriber and the integration is flawless.

So this is getting a little long but I'm not without complaints about Sync4. I do have those but because this post is getting long I won't mention them. They do exist but overall the positives out weigh the negatives.

The sync 3 in my 22 Lariat has worked flawlessly. I'm with you on not liking the bigger screen due on the 25's. Just means more stuff and more area to navigate through to find what I want quickly.

I've had sync4a in my wife's Bronco with the 12" screen about 2.5 years. wireless android auto works more reliably than wired AA on my Maverick sync3.

it can only do over the air updates so if you have wifi where you park, you'll need to create a hotspot on your phone and connect to that now and then. no option for USB update.

it is faster and crashes a lot less, not zero. it's a massive upgrade for the Maverick.

I have the most current version of Sync in my Lincoln and Sunc 3 in the Maverick. It doesn't really matter either way for me because I use wireless Android Auto via wireless adapter. As long as my phone reliably connects, I'm happy and get a consistent experience regardless of which vehicle I'm in.

👎 On the loss of physical HVAC controls.

No complaints on my 2022 Lariat Sync 3.
