I think that's what the CEO meant a few months ago when discussing a Maverick "line" of affordable vehicles. I'm thinking something like the original Escape with the same front end and relatively utilitarian interior styling of the Maverick. The Escape becomes the road trip family SUV and the Maverick SUV (whatever they end up calling it) serves the needs of the folks that do field work/head to job sites or want a basic hybrid SUV to get around in.I think they will offer an SUV version that is less oriented to off roading like the Bronco Sport is. Better gas mileage and overall look better than the Sport.
As for the Maverick itself, add a PHEV option and they can take my money all over again. I've been very happy with my truck over the last few weeks and see a lot of potential for the platform.
