I'd love to see other auto manufacturers enter the foray of compact unibody pickups that get excellent gas mileage (I'm looking at you, Toyota!).
I'm hoping Chevy brings back the S10 name to rival the maverick

I assume @Ford Motor Company will take all the wrong lessons from the Maverick. I can see them saying, "People bought up this small truck, I bet they'll buy it even more if we make it bigger! And it needs more chip modules in it! And imagine all the money we're leaving on the table by making it affordable! Henry Ford didn't worry about that, did he? And let's make the allocation process even harder to figure out because people have been talking about that a lot and there's no such thing as bad publicity!"

I just hope other manufacturers get into this market again and drive some competition so Ford has to treat people who want to drive their products decently, and not like they're treating us.

This is what I would like to see. Make the bed 5 feet, wireless android auto and apple car play, rear window defroster, fog lights and an awd option for the hybrid.

Of course everyone wants an Awd hybrid. They need to come up with a better FX4 package with more lift and the Bronco Sport Badlands package.
I don't. I don't have a need. Nor want.

I just took a 1300-1500lb payload to the dump. The dump had a very thick, fine silt, where I was to dump my dirt and masonry. People overestimate their need or want for AWD

While I get what everyone is saying about it getting bigger, adding more features etc and it losing what it is. There are a few things I would love to see it add, like push button start on XLT, Cruise Control on XL, and would like to see SYNC 4 available. I will most likely be a 2023 buyer and I doubt these things will be done in 2023. The maverick is currently at the top of my list but if I'm honest I am hoping for a midsize truck that is Hybrid with just slightly more room than the Maverick.

good competiton is key keeping ford at their best and not inflating their prices like dealers are doing right now!

cruise control on xl should be added for sure. As push to the start the app is fine replacement. If they wanted add remote start on the Key FOB though :)

This is me. If they had debuted an AWD hybrid, I'd have ordered right away. I don't even need that much lift (though wouldn't mind an inch), but I do what option to fit it with the underbody protection that comes with the FX4 (and maybe another plate or two).

Sure lots of those 1.5 liters being sold in Broncos and Escapes.

The 1.5 is mentioned here: https://fordauthority.com/fmc/ford/ford-maverick/
those aren't trucks and don't require much towing or hauling capacity. That motor is 3 cylinders with cylinder deactivation as well as the auto stop/start. I know people who had each of the Bronco Sport and Escape and they bought them strictly for most MPG they could get in lowest trim models. Lots and lots of problems with that motor over the years- no thanks.

One of the worst articles I have ever read. The next step is a plug in hybrid. Ford will keep the dimensions at the risk of Ranger sales. They found the sweet spot of mileage and price why screw with it.

I’m actually really curious about the upcoming Transit Connect replacement. With Maverick bones it could look much better and possibly still be really cheap - don’t even tease me with a 2.0 AWD cargo van, because I’d take one in eruption green without a second thought!!!

I'm no fan of such a smaller engine in a Maverick either. Cylinder de-activation is a problem looking for a place to happen from what I've read. The 2.0 ecoBoost in our Maverick has been excellent so far. My Dad has an Escape Titanium 2.0eB/tow package, loves it.

I think they will offer an SUV version that is less oriented to off roading like the Bronco Sport is. Better gas mileage and overall look better than the Sport.
