Curious as to what people are using Forscan for and if it’s really worth the risk of altering the stock settings? I’m an IT professional and know that once you alter an extensively tested release of software that you open up other parts of the software to whatever bugs it may have. And you may void any warranties depending on what you’ve changed and how it affected the overall performance, and more importantly the health of the vehicle. Are the benefits worth all that risk?

You can always go back!
The single most important recommendation when using FORScan is: Always create a complete backup of your original "As-Built" data before changing anything.
If you make a mistake or a module glitches during a write, having those original files is the only way to restore your vehicle to its factory working state.

I'm not an IT professional, but pretty sure you aren't actually changing any actual code with Forscan, simply changing the settings pertaining to which existing code the vehicle will utilize.

It's handy, was able to add cruise to my '22 XL.

Cheers.

I want to use it for just a couple of reasons one to turn off that auto start stop, too add turn signal clicks from 3 to 5,and maybe a few other things.

I've been having a problem trying to get the temporary extended license it doesn't seem to be working.

I added Eco, Sport modes, eco advisor, disabled stop/start, disabled while driving prompt block, stopped LED hyper flash on tail/turn lights on my 2024 XLT EB FX4. It really has made a great experience into a fantastic one. I really like the changes, especially the Sport mode 🤣

It doesn't have to be that in depth..

I work in IT as well, it's like changing a setting in windows... yeah you could screw it up if youre careless, but also... you could just change "show seatbelt warning" from "on", to "off".

Traffic Sign Recognition on my 2022, which for some reason Ford did not enable.

Added Eco and Sport mode today, Very cool to have these! Also Changed to the ST logo on screen.

Actually walked my cousin through this over the phone as well. It isn't in depth pro/re programming, some generous souls have done the hard work and all you're doing is making a backup and toggling on/Off or adding a value.
I was more apprehensive about using Odin and unlocking bootloaders and loading custom ROMS on my phone back in the day.....

What happens when something in the software breaks that you didn’t change with Forscan and you take it in to get fixed? They’ll know you altered the software so curious as to if they’ll fix it?
