It has bothered me that when using ACC, the brake lights do not come on when the truck slows for traffic ahead. I think this is dangerous and have seen vehicles behind me be 'surprised' because the brakes lights did not light up to warn them. I have taken to not using the ACC if there is traffic behind me.

I was looking around in ForScan and saw there are lots of options in the Cruise Control setting. Mine is set at 'ACC, Stop&Go' by default, but I noticed there is a 'Brake Limit 2' feature in the mix of options and I wondered if anyone knows if including that would trigger the brake lights.

Does anyone know what the features in there do? There names are not intuitive as to what their function might be. Also, is the order in which they appear important?

Thanks ahead of time.

Well, I just assumed that the brake lights must come on if the vehicle's brakes are applied. I know the ACC can slow the truck with deceleration and down shifting and I just assumed that's what was going on when the guy behind me didn't leave space. (I live in California and people are constantly "in my trunk" no matter brake lights or not!) I have never tested any of this. I guess I'm going to have to get the wife to follow me (but not anytime soon) a bit and see how it functions. I may even try the brake limit 2 thing.

If anyone has tried to notice, please let us know!

I did have the wife follow me at night, we were in communication via hands-free and I related what the truck was doing when it approached traffic. . . when it slowed down, she said the brake lights never came on. The brake lights only came on when I depressed the brake pedal.
I did not get an opportunity to see if the brake lights come on when the ACC has to use the brakes to slow the truck. I was not that eager to approach the vehicle ahead of me that quickly. Even so, slowing the truck automatically with ACC should light the brake lights whether regen, downshifting or brakes are used. . . . Brake lights get another driver's attention faster than just slowing down without them.
