As the title entails, took my Maverick into the dealership to get diagnosed for a few notifications that popped up (see attached images).

After they found the problem (the GSM), they went to reset the module and told me that it killed the car and I wasn't even consulted on whether to go further than just a diagnostic test.

Now, even after the car turning into a brick w/ wheels, they found out the GSM wasn't even the actual problem after digging deeper (again, wasn't consulted on going deeper), they found a bad cable that connects from the GSM to the battery, along side a bad battery terminal connection. He then mentioned that the parts & labor to do this invasive repair would be just under $1,400. And now after another phone call, I'm not even able to drive it off the lot because of all of this going on.

Any idea on what I should do with this? I don't have the cash to pay for this repair right now and I can only work from home for so long until I need to be back in the office.

Anything having to do with the hybrid system should still be covered by the hybrid components warranty. I think your good for like 8/80 IIRC.

It only covers specific Hybrid drivetrain components.

Although a bad battery terminal connection sounds like the infamous bad solder joint, but technically that CSP expired this summer IIRC.

I would raise a stink and be sure that Ford warranties the repair.

(5) The electrical drivetrain system of your vehicle is covered by the Hybrid & Electric Vehicle Unique Component coverage for eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. The components in the electrical drivetrain system of your vehicle will vary, depending on whether your vehicle is a hybrid, plug-in hybrid, but you can rest assured knowing that your vehicle’s electrical drivetrain system is covered by this comprehensive warranty. Depending on your vehicle, electrical drivetrain system components covered by this warranty may include, and are not limited to: high-voltage battery, high-voltage battery connector, battery energy control module (BECM), on-board charger, inverter system controller (ISC), DC/DC converter, hybrid continuously variable transmission or electric driveline motor and transmission range sensor. If an electrical drivetrain system component requires replacement under warranty, it may be replaced with a new, factory remanufactured, or factory refurbished component, at Ford’s discretion. Refurbished battery components selected for your vehicle will align with your vehicle’s age and mileage, and meet Ford’s stringent requirements and standards.

There's an electrical issue with your hybrid drivetrain - sure sounds like it would be covered to me, by plain reading.
When Ford tries to convince you otherwise, mention this and state that trying to deny it based on this warranty wording might be so complex regarding the meaning of the wording that you'll have to get a lawyer to sort it out.

What was your issue and how did the bot help you? We’ve seen plenty of detailed examples of the bot not being helpful. This is the first time I have seen someone say the bot was helpful, but no details are supplied to explain how, exactly, the bot was helpful.

Would this include a cable that leads to the battery? From what the tech said, was that it was a bad battery terminal/cable.

I direct messaged the account and was put in touch with a "Customer Experience Specialist" who worked with me on lack of customer service from my dealership. I was seeking reimbursement for car rental fees incurred while warranty work was done, Maverick had less than 1,000 miles on it.
The Customer Experience Specialist got me my reimbursement and extended my warranty. Long tedious process but I was persistent and courteous.

Finally got something back from the dealership and he told me that Ford isn't going to cover this cable under the warranty.

Damn, that sucks. If it falls under that TSB that's rough - missed by a few months.

I had a somewhat similar situation with my mom's VW a few years back. Just outside warranty, but I found lots of people that stated their similar issue was covered even out of warranty. Certified mail, physical letter to VW corporate worked.

Good luck.
