I have another post on this. But after the airbag replacement truck started throwing codes..
Finally after 2 weeks in shop it was traced to the wiring harness getting crimped when new bags installed..
The truck is torn apart, dash out, seats, center console..
Just was notified the airbags wiring harness are on back order… The shop going to contact Ford tech to see if the is a repair option to damaged wires..
I considering my options… Wait for new harness, I’m sure they don’t want me to keep the loaner much longer. Repair the damage wires and hoping that fixes it. Lemon law it, Ford buy back..
Not happy with theses opinions.
What would you do?

Washington state does have lemon laws.....with time requirements. Who is your dealer so I can avoid?

I wouldn’t worry about it at this point. Mine was one of the first done… The repair bulletin left out a step which F ed mine up… Once they figured it out it’s been fine.. I did hold their feet to the fire… Got a free 8 year extended warranty from them.

Sounds like they skipped a step. I'd have asked to see the acclaimed step that was "not included".

Do you know what codes were thrown? If something shorted out it could have caused multiple things to go wrong and electrical issues can definitely ruin a vehicle or cause some issue down the road. Overheating copper loses it's conductivity and increases resistance then things go south from there when other parts start trying to compensate for either being undervolted or overvolted.

I'd lemon law it too and order another one that doesn't have the airbag recall and never let that dealer touch my vehicle again.

Idk how they could crimp or crush the wires. They are so damn short to begin with. Also the connectors are color coded so u can really mess that up.
That seems to be a crappy service dept or inept techs.
good luck with the repair

Sounds like the dealership turned it into a lemon. It’s also on Ford and the Air-Bag supplier, for the recall, and on Ford for not having the parts.

This is why I haven’t had the airbag swap done. Too many horror stories.

Hey there. Can you send over a message with your VIN and the name/location of the Ford dealer you have been working with? I would like to look into your repair concerns on my end.
