Good luck or get out! If the water or wind doesn't get to you or your property it's the w/o electricity for a week plus that's the issue. While I’m hunkered down in my house in NE FL waiting for Ian I keep looking out the window at Tyger and wondering if she will be safe in my driveway, not for the trees but the high water. I just read someone’s post and all the comments about water fording in our Mavs which got me concerned. Do I leave her in the driveway where she wouldn’t get hit with a fallen tree or do I park her at the other end of the yard where an electric pole might come down? Stressed in FL

Keep us posted! I hope you come through it well.I’m on the island in St Augustine and can’t evacuate at this point. I’m used to losing power (20 years here) and just wish I had a battery backup for my solar panels! Darn FPL that shuts us down during an outage! Is it November yet? Stay safe and good luck to all in the path of Ian’s journey! Post when you can.
We still have power after hours and hours of torrential downpours and winds gusting up to 80 mph! At least it is down to a CAT 1 now!NE orlando area . lots of rain all day . haven't lost power yet . generator ready to go . Mav in garage . all supplies ready . in 04 when 4 hurricanes hit we lost power for 10 days . have better prepared house since then .we will just hunker down and then clean up after it passes .
Looks to be heading your way then on to smack mid-state in South Carolina. This is more an instapot type day. Learned from the rolling blackout of our deep freeze event to not use slow devices. Too risky food wise if half uncooked the later cooked than fully cooked then reheated within 4 hours.Been awake for hours listening to the wind ripping through the trees and the constant rain on the roof.weather app says 30 mph winds gusting to 41 but I think it’s higher than that. Calling for 60+ mph later today. Need to get crockpot going while I still have power.
