My phone this morning sent me a message that I am now under a tropical storm warning from Ian. I live near Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. My hourly forecast is for 100% chance of rain from 8 tonight until 8 p.m. tomorrow.

Greetings from Fort McCoy FL (northeast Marion County, about thirty miles from Ocala). We have had lots of rain year to date, and lots more since yesterday. We are hoping for it to dissipate by later this afternoon. Lost power at 4:45 am but the generator has been humming along since 8:30 or so. Generator, gas, grill, propane, bourbon, vodka, beer and cigars all stocked up. I think we picked up some food as well :D Initial observations this morning show no damage. Lucky and blessed ... thoughts and prayers for those less fortunate.

My brother-in-law is just across the small lake from us and his screen room is now on top of the house. Lots of work to do when the rain and wind subsides.

Keep the faith ... check in with you all when the storm has passed!

Cannot speak for others but in my neck of the woods, no real damage. Winds maybe 35-45 mph tops. Lots of rain. Couple trees down.

Some stores open, some restaurants opening later today.

Cocoa Beach area.

West side different story. Ugly

We got 17 inches of rain in 1 day!! That’s more than we got all summer long! I live high up on a ridge so no problems with flooding! :)

I have a brother in Fort Lauderdale- he's fine just some local flooding there.

I know two people who have moved to Naples, FL in the last couple of years. One of them recently retired from Ford corporate. I don't know if they stayed or got out but they certainly are probably seeing flooding.

The videos coming out of Fort Myers Beach area are showing heavy damage due to storm surge. I fear many of the the islands along the lower Gulf coast were overrun by the storm surge.

I hope the rumors of heavy loss of life are nothing but rumors. The property damage is terrible but can be repaired or replaced.

Ian left us with 17 inches of rain but we live high up on a ridge so NO flood problems! All I need to do now is clean up all of the tree trash! Hurricanes tend to die when they reach Polk County!
