Not exactly the same setup and it still has to get its own EPA approval.
correct the maverick electric motor is an newly redesigned motor with claimed more power than the previous model, and is being built in the USA not abroad so quality control will be better so they say

That’s really shady. they might even be trying to upsell into something that they know is coming in. Play it out OP, then talk to Ford. Might be able to leapfrog us that are waiting.

Why is this a discussion. This is a pretty well documented issue.

However, it is NOT a “omg the government is holding us back” nor a “omg hybrids are broken” issue…

It just a simple procedural issue: The EPA must give accurate assessments of emission standards and MPG figures. Its a new vehicle…there is a process…trust the process. They’re making the vehicles, they just can’t sell them quite yet…but that could change in a week or even a day as soon as the EPA finalizes its assessment.

7 month time-table — that might be true…but that’s not an issue with the government...thats a production constraint issue, which, itself, is well documented.

Some of us have been waiting since June/July — so welcome to the fun.
Still, I am not going to not place fault on the dealership for what they said. There likely isn’t any truthful reason for them to say that.

I'm sure many were converted orders but the dealers would easily be able to enter a second order in your name. Some people have ordered two trucks - one fellow already has two build dates! They really want Hybrids so I would not put anything past them.
I might go crazy n throw another 5.00 or 10.00 down so I have 3 color options when they show up at the dealer ????

Maybe but Like I said they had one to test drive and sell to me when I went in to look at the 3 they had at the dealership. And barely even said anything about it for sale. Not to mention the one we ordered is more moneys. I wish i could leap frog the eb gas versions lol

Sometimes idiots take upselling to a different level. Now, I am unsure specifically, but it seems like they might have tried to use forum diatribe to try and get you to order something more expensive, versus actual facts.

I have no reason to doubt that it is currently held up by the EPA. The transmission thing? Not so much.

I have my information from the Brand Manager and Ford Marketing Team. They still say hybrids will be delivered in the Fall. Any delivery by mid December would make that statement true.
Well, they would have to deliver 2 by the 21st of December.

The government is pending a shut down if the debt ceiling increase for the fiscal year 22 budget isn’t approved today. Hopefully this doesn’t happen as the EPA could be unable to approve the Ford Maverick Hybrid during the shutdown.

update: a stopgap funding bill was passed. So this is a none issue
