All EcoBoost 2025 Mavericks have this redesigned engine. Sometime this summer, the GPF will be added to the 2025 EcoBoost. Ford engineers claim that the HP will not reduce by GPF. We will have to wait until the GPF is installed to verify if this is true or not.
Interesting, so not until the summer like that guy said in the other thread. How will anyone be able to tell whether they have it or not?

I personally do not know what the GPT looks like or where it will be installed on the Maverick. Perhaps there are other MTC members can answer this question.

Hoping so. When mine comes, I would love to know how to tell which engine I have.

The ecoboost engines are all the same. It's just an add on gas particulate filter.

Also only some states will have it according to Ford. Only the ones with California emission laws. (Lots of threads about this.)

Finally, those living in Canada will keep the 250hp, because our laws don't require the particulate filter. (Source- Autotrader)

Me being in Pennsylvania, will I have it then? None of this was clear online.

You won't be job 3, so you're fine anyways. You'll have to look up what your emissions laws are.

The 250 I don't think is accurate, did not know about the injection means. What does that mean?
Gas Direct injection (GDI) engines can be prone to carbon build up on the intake valves. Reducing performance and requiring a trip to a mechanic for cleaning.

Toyota has both port injection and GDI. Just enough fuel passes through the intake manifold and past the valves to keep them clean. Both port and fuel injection can also improve gas mileage, reduce emissions. So a win/win. If it's true I'm glad to hear Ford is doing both.

I have a 2022 XL Hybrid and have never thought of it as slow or pokey. 0-60 the EcoBoost is 1.5 seconds faster. The 0-40 mph time is according to my search virtually the same between the EcoBoost and hybrid. About 3.5 seconds. That 0-40 being what you will be doing in the city if you obey the traffic laws.

It's great we have a choice. For those that put most of their driving miles on the highway, the EcoBoost gets just a few MPG less. If you do most of your driving in the city - or even if you fall into the EPA "average driver" (55% City, 45% Highway) breakdown the MPG difference is substantial. Since 80% of my driving is city, I'm loving the gas mileage! For those that love the extra ponies - have fun!!

Actually, if you are referring to the fact sheet produced by Ford in 7/2004, there are some specs that have changed regarding the EB engine. The fuel injection listed is not correct...it is both direct and port injection. Also, the HP and Torque specs are incorrect...should be 250 hp and 274 lbs. This latest specs are from the engineers from Ford (one of them is on this forum).
Is that official though? If Ford confirms it's getting more power out of an engine you can bet within 2 seconds of finding that data out, they'll put out a press release and have that plastered all over their site. Like you say, originally in June they said 238. Then updated their fact sheet again in November with... 238.

2025 Ford Maverick Specs

Just saying... trust but verify. It wouldn't be the first time a rumor or inside contact about something in the auto industry didn't turn out to be true in the end.

Yep I will,
I live in a small town, about a dozen street light controlled intersections.
I’ve got a nice rolling hill 15 mile highway drive to town.
My now traded in Bronco Sport Base model had the 3 cylinder.
It was quite peppy and I never wished for more power.
I take trips now and then, mostly 75-85 mph interstate runs, again I wanted the Ecoboost power at higher speeds.
I remember when they first came out.
I thought then the Hybrid was the perfect city pickup truck,
I still do.
If I lived in a major metro I’d have one.

Similar situation here. I've got a half dozen stop signs and no street lights in my "town". Nearest McDonalds is a 15 mile highway trip, nearest Walmart is a 30 mile all highway trip. I like the extra power, and of course when I was choosing, the EcoBoost was the only AWD. Even now I'd choose one for those reasons.

One member here stated the hybrid AWD has less moving drive train parts, a less complicated drive train than the Ecoboost.
I considered the electric motors, battery system and all associated hybrid parts more complexity and part of the drive train.
I’m very glad Ford has a Hybrid Maverick in AWD and If I lived in a city I’d have one. I hope fuel prices don’t hit $5 a gallon but I bet they will.
I wonder if I’ll change my mind and trade in for an AWD hybrid one day.
At $5 a gallon I just might.

I think it would be way cool if they came out with my Ecoboost engine and the Hybrid System.
Adding the power of the electric motors to the EB engine…
Yeah yeah I would like to be able to do a proper burn out,
And maybe spank a fast car or two. :D
