It's slow! Felt like I was driving a Kia in that thing. I am a younger person so I wanted a little pep in the truck I was buying.
I have the hybrid and I find it pretty quick. I was going 50 in the right lane of a divided highway. Trucks were restricted to center lane only. The semi truck in the center lane was swerving into my lane because the lanes were narrow. My right lane had guard rails so I couldn't get by the truck. When I got by a section without guard rails I steped on the gas and got by the truck. When I looked down I was going 70. I barely pushed the pedal. From 50 to 70 with ease. That was in eco mode. The hybrid is quick.

Any car nowadays can do that in a pinch. It drives like a soccer mom van as compared to the turbo.

Don't think this is true. Ford themselves say 238 HP.
Actually, if you are referring to the fact sheet produced by Ford in 7/2004, there are some specs that have changed regarding the EB engine. The fuel injection listed is not correct...it is both direct and port injection. Also the HP and Torque specs are incorrect...should be 250 hp and 274 lbs. This latest specs are from the engineers from Ford (one of them is on this forum).

I think most people buy product X with options y,z because that's what they want. Then they invest hours upon hours researching and justifying what they want.

The 250 I don't think is accurate, did not know about the injection means. What does that mean?

My info came from a Ford engineer who worked on the design of this information and @fordvideoguy who has confirmed with Ford engineers. What is the source of your information?

The dealership/every available resource online. How can one tell if they get the old/new engine?

That information is based on a July 2024 publication which is outdated according to Ford engineers. This is not the first time this has happened with the Ford Maverick specs. Ford is slow to update their publications. The production started of 2025 Mavericks started in November 2024 and these Mavericks have the redesigned engine.

So the 2025 does all have the redesigned? I am confused as to when the 250 HP will no longer be added.

All EcoBoost 2025 Mavericks have this redesigned engine. Sometime this summer, the GPF will be added to the 2025 EcoBoost. Ford engineers claim that the HP will not reduce by GPF. We will have to wait until the GPF is installed to verify if this is true or not.
