Lots of components down low on this engine installation, I thought about leaving it off until I laid there looking at all of that and decided against leaving it all exposed. Takes me about 90-seconds to drop that cover and push it back out of the way with a screw gun, so not worth it to me. I would imagine an mpg penalty as well by removing.?

The composite ones are the easiest to remove. They are very lightweight. You won't find a modern vehicle without something like this equipped now days. Throw it back on.

Obviously most will agree there should be flaps or removable sections for ease of maintenance, but that requires effort by the manufacturer and aint nobody got time for that :ROFLMAO:

Just dealer maintenance from what I've heard on here.

Honda forgot to install it on my 2022 Honda CRV Hybrid....maybe that's why it got shitty mileage.

Like, from the factory? Or after service? 😅
It's possible that it the dealer did something with it during PDI but I noticed it after driving 2.5 hours home from the dealership and checking things out in the garage.

It was actually a 2021 - I bought it after placing my initial Maverick and Bronco orders - knowing hybrids were in demand and I could get out from it when one of my orders arrived.

Purchase was necessitated by sliding down our mountain road in my Forester on old tires, hooking a wheel in the ditch and lighting up a number of boulders/rocks in the process....

Oh I see.... 2021 production things then :ROFLMAO:

I will say in every vehicle I've owned, that was the worst year to buy. Late 2020 and 2021 production was a disaster for literally every manufacturer. The entire process was half assed across the board.

Could not agree more. That 2021 CRV (Touring, Hybrid - most expensive CRV) paled in comparison to the quality of my wife's 2018 Odyssey EX-L.

My Bronco that arrived a few months later was total garbage, so much so I sold my "dream" vehicle after just 76 days.

My Maverick is perfect as far as build quality goes. That doesn't mean the materials or option/packages couldn't be improved upon by Ford but the manufacturing/initial quality of my Maverick is as good if not the best I've seen on a new vehicle I've purchased.

Brindo por mis amigos de Hermosillo por el trabajo bien hecho.

Was the same way with my Tacoma. I was heartbroken and expected so much more. So here I am. More features for around the same price, even if it's a "less capable" vehicle. Probably should have gone with a Tremor but something in my gut told me I'd be happier with the FX4 at the pump. It wouldn't have made that much of a difference tbh. Just couldn't find any Tremors that I liked without having to go through the ordering process and I was ready to get out of that Tacoma. Had it not been for the Escape I had that replaced my Subaru I would have never considered FORD. Overall, I'm happy. But I want quick access to the oil changes without having to remove that damned skid plate :ROFLMAO:

At least now after the most recent oil change I got the correct replacement parts for the mating pieces on the FX4, because whoever owned it previously must've had the dealership service it as all those "nuts" were totally shot. Hopefully these ones don't become flimsy due to rusting, but I was gentle in my installation. I only gave it 100 ft/lbs of torque on the impact /s

In all seriousness, I stopped as soon as there was force and then gave it a good 1/16th more of a turn - not on the bolts into the frame... the small screws that I believe you also have in the Tremor on the very front of the bumper? Similar to the ones in the Hybrids as well? But the FX4 has a different style nut that clips into the front portion of the two part skid.
