just took delivery of a 25 Maverick XLT With the LUX package, I absolutely wanted the 8 way power seats, the truck is for my daughter who is not the tallest person in the world so I thought the 8 way power is important, well now my daughter says the seats are so uncomfortable that she can't drive the truck, her complaint is that the seat bottom is slanted to the back and she feels like she is sitting in a peach basket, her knees are very high and her butt is sunken in. I told her to pull up on the back of the long button and that will lift the rear of the seat, well guess what, that will only raise of lower the whole seat but will not allow you to raise of lower the front of the seat or the rear, the adjustment only changes the height but Does not change the pitch of the seat. every other ford truck I have ever been in including my own 25 Ranger allows that adjustment.

My next move is to try to unbolt the back of the seat from the floor and shim the back of the seat up with either a bushing of some sort or a stack of washers. has anyone ever removed the rear attachment bolts from the driver seat to try to do something like this?

I have not done that on a Maverick but it sounds like a simple solution.
I cannot think of any problems you could run into other than possibly needing longer bolts. I say Go for it.

I took a look at this today, I pulled out the rear bolts using a T55 torx which have plenty of thread, but the first few threads looked smaller, they may be starting threads to help alignment at the factory so we cant add much spacing on the factory bolts. I had 4 washers laying around and was able to slip them in without dealing with the front bolts. As I expected, this did little to remedy the situation, when I have more time I am going to bring a bolt to the hardware store and get a few longer ones and a box of washers and experiment until I get the right lift.

Automotive designed seat bolts or Hardware store bolts? Rhetorical
The bolts used for automotive seats are high-strength fasteners, especially where they connect to the vehicle's chassis. These are engineered to meet strict safety standards for occupant protection during a collision. While other fasteners in a car might be standard grade, seat bolts and other critical safety components are always higher grade.

But raising the seat should result in it tipping forward, due to the way the mechanism is setup. Lowering tilts it back, raising tilts it forward, or always has in most vehicles with a single height adjustment motor.

There are kits from 'Desert Does it' with shim kits, and a few others that are less expensive, which can raise the front, back, or combination thereof. They include utilize an offset spacer, with one bolt going into the floor, and another to attached the seat to the top of the plate.

We just got back from a 5 hour road trip, overall the seats were more comfortable than I expected but the Mrs complained the front of the seat was too high and I am not paying $180 for two sets of the seat jackers! I was looking for the bolt size on the forum and found another thread that said you can go up 3/8" on the factory bolts so I went to 3/8 on both seats. There is an improvement but not enough, the next time I am at a hardware store I am going to get 4 bolts that are an inch longer. Anyone know the thread and pitch on these bolts?

Seat bolts have critical safety specs. Seat airbag are location tuned too.

Good point Glen, I recall a crash and resulting law suit, involving a Mazda convertible. Those seats were way stronger than non-convertable seats. Any of you who change bolts make certain you match the existing grade bolts.
