We have decided to order one of the ugly keypads. Not impressed, but don't have a choice since we want a keypad.
My question is how long does it take from order to delivery? They are currently in stock. They were out of stock a while ago.
Trying to decide if we just order it now and suck it up and pay for it, or wait and use Ford points. We want it pretty quickly after our Mav is delivered.
I have also seen posts about delays in the points hitting your account.
Whats everyones thoughts on timelines?

After thought. As I typed the beginning it dawned on me thats why Ford deleted the factory installed ones. People who want them will be forced to buy no matter how ugly. No other options. They save the $$ and then charge the customer to get it.
Win win for Ford. 🙄

I purchased one when I ordered my truck, when it arrived at the dealer I request to not have it installed, still can't decide if it really makes since.. and it is ugly.. up until now I've kept my key fob in a zip lock, inside my camelbak while mountain biking.. never had a problem albeit surfing this summer might be a different issue.. Maybe install it inside the bedside cubby hole?

It took about 6 days from the time I ordered it until it arrived at the dealership. The dealership sent a mobile unit to my house to install two days later. I tried to have it installed inside the fuel cap on an XL but it was too large. Ended up placing it on the black trim just above the fuel cap and it blends in pretty well.

I ordered the keypad March 30 and got the 15% discount that Ford was running on accessories. It was shipped to the dealer in 4 days. I picked up up the Maverick today. They programmed it and gave it to me to stick on wherever I want. Thinking about putting in inside the bed cubby compartment which I need to acquire since I have an XL.

I ordered my Maverick with the keypad and I was able to choose where the dealer installed it. It doesn’t bother me although the order sheet said molded in color and the window sticker just says keypad.
My 22 XLT had the factory keypad and between the two i’m ok with the stick on accessory. It does still light up FYI.

Just remember, a tonneau cover that locks with your tailgate will negate the use of putting it in the bed cubby.

Not an option with lariat and tonneau cover the tailgate locks with the doors.

Only took a couple days for mine to show up at the dealership. I waited for my points to show up to order it which took a week or two after I signed the paperwork for the truck. I recommend this method as ordering it from the accessories website it is only $120 which beats the $195 they want if you order it with the truck. Installation is $24 as long as you select it while ordering the keypad on the website and with the 15% discount it just about covers installation. Your points will more than cover this cost so no additional cost to you. Had mine placed like the one above also.

Hmmm great point about tonneau cover which makes me thank maybe mounting the thing on my back of the truck on the tail gate. That way I can unlock the tailgate while your standing next to it.

Been thinking about the bottom drivers side corner of the rear window. I have an inexpensive soft roll up tonneau cover or I'd put it on the front bed rail facing up.
It's such a shame, my wife's Titanium Edge has it build into the window trim. You can't see it till you touch it then it appears.
