I picked my Maverick up today from the service center. No additional explanation or thoughts from them. I feel so discouraged. The Mav isn't fun to drive anymore. I'm seriously thinking about trading it in.

I believe you can ask the dealer to rest the learn data. Then it will start that process over again.

Be great if you could have it not learn any data and always just drive like a Maverick rather than a Maverick learnt to it’s driver’s driving style.

Hi there! If you send over a private message with your VIN and dealership information, I'd be happy to look into things on my end.

And when the engine is lugging, it puts out quite a boost in decibels of low frequencies. Almost like a pair of diesels running at those certain low speeds on a ferry boat. Some users say the truck ā€œlearnsā€ how you drive and plans accordingly. I wish it didn’t hahahaha.
It does seem like there has been a recent change to mine also. I currently have 14K miles on mine. I have been looking for a way to drop to 7th gear to raise the RPM slightly when cruising at 50-55. Bumping my speed up to 62-65 helps to minimize the lugging. Sport mode drops it to 6th gear which is more than I want. We have had a warm spell here in Ohio and I am not going to complain about my current fuel mileage, it is possibly my personal best on the XL EB FWD. Paddle shifters would fix my concerns.

Just wanted to update everyone. After DM'ing Ford here, Ford Customer Service called me and asked if I was still having issues. When I said yes, they asked if I was going to take it back to the dealership. I said it didn't make sense to do that since the dealership just told me they couldn't replicate it. Ford suggested I wait until the problem gets worse so the service tech will be able to notice it better next time. Cool cool cool.

I can only think it's a software problem as the transmission doesn't act rough all the time. Makes the ride feel like crap when it misbehaves though.

Just noticed this for the first time in my eco awd. 1100 miles. Tried to accelerate at about 35 mph and it stayed at 1200 rpm for about 2 seconds before it downshifted. It shuddered like a manual trans when you forget to downshift, or you almost stall it. It’s done it twice now. I get the whole ā€œlearningā€ thing but can’t think of any scenario where the engine would be trying to make power at such a low rpm. I’ll mention it when I go in for my first oil change. @Mavidiesel did you ever resolve this?

man I didn’t, but I noticed it was Alot worse when I was using Eco mode frequently. I stopped using that and started driving with more authority and it’s kinda gone away.

Good to know. I was pretty much always in normal mode but I’ve been driving like a grandma trying to get good mileage. Maybe that has something to do with it. I’ll start being more aggressive and see if it helps

Hi there. This shudder concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your Maverick. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.
