2025 Eco - Did some quick searching but didn’t find anything and wanted to check here before I took it to ford. I’m getting a noise from which I’m assuming is coming from the trans since it only happens when stopped in drive (not sure about reverse haven’t paid attention 🤪) and when I take my foot off the brake it immediately goes away. No other issues in the drivetrain that I can tell. Is this a normal sound ?

Transmission noise when stopped in drive isn't normal.

Is it a clunk at about 13 mph? Many here have complained about that.

Well, nobody else has said it, so I suppose it's up to me... when saying noise from the trans, is that someone in your truck or the transmission?
Bah, hahahaha….. I actually debated using the complete spelling so not to confuse anyone

No clunking what so ever….. just sounds like a meshing/spinning sound. No slipping or shifting issues just the noise when stopped in drive with my foot on the brake, release the brake and the noise goes away

EcoBoost= conventional transmission.
Could be your torque converter.

Since you were specific, 'transmission noise.'
I ruled out any bolted on accessories, alternator, water pump that might be heard while stopped but with the engine running.

Its the motor making a rattling noise....mine is aweful.... only does it in drive with the brake on......sounds like a exhaust shield is rattling........I can sit at Idle with the brake pressed and go from drive to neutral and the sound goes away.
The sound is hard to explain. Its more of a engine vibration....harmonics......noise

That’s possible, I will say the noise is there but very faint when I take my foot off the brake as well but definitely more noticeable when my foot is on the brake. I know in my original post I said it went away away when I released the brake but it’s the same noise only louder. I have noticed the noise seems to be louder after the vehicle has warmed up, not very noticeable when cold but need to pay more attention.

Bumping this thread.
Did you ever have this checked? Seems you're describing the noise of the High Pressure Fuel Pump. Shuts off in Neutral and the engine runs on Port Fuel Injection only. The HPFP and Direct Injection runs in Drive at idle in anticipation of upcoming acceleration need. Wondering if you received confirmation of this from the dealer or is there an issue causing this.

It's a 2025 take it in to Ford and have it checked out if it's a Transmission problem the sooner the better.

Hopefully when he decides to service the Trans, he doesn't get Trans fluid all over himself.....

Too much?

I have a 2025 Maverick XLT FWD with less 20,000 miles on it. I took it to the Ford Dealership to have the oil changed and they determined that the half shafts needed to be replaced under the Ford Customer Satisfaction Program 25N09.

I started noticing a noise/vibration in the cab while stopped in traffic after the work that was done at the dealership. I don't believe the half shaft replacement is the cause but something to note.

I have had it back to the dealership several times. They tell me that its normal operation for the Ford Maverick.

Cold start up seems to be loader than it used to be. Seems to calm down with engine heat.
In Park - vibration and noise are minimal
In Reverse stopped with foot on the brake - vibration and noise in truck is noticeable.
In Neutral stopped with foot on brake - vibration and noise are gone
In Drive stopped with foot on brake - vibration and noise in truck are noticeable.

Vibration and noise do not seem to change when in reverse or drive with foot on the brake and increase rpm.

If the truck is in Reverse or Drive and you release the brake to start moving, the vibration and noise go away.

A/C on or off does not seem to change the vibration and noise.

If anyone has had any success with addressing this issue please share.

I'm 3/4 of retard, but it sounds like a transmission mount. But it could also be any of the 30,00 individual parts that make up your Maverick, or 1 of the other 3,100 moving parts.
Good starting point I guess.
