Wrong - it is just plain stupid to get the most powerful engine option then run the cheapest gas you can find. He needs to know just how dumb that it. Especially when you can get a Plat with lesser motor in it. Plus, on top of that Ford does not even recommend 85 octane gas....as I said, STUPID!!

PS: if you read the original post I was replying to, you will see that it was not a "club member" but a friend of his....so, by your metric, I am "good"....I didn't belittle a club member.....

Friends have a new ST/Explorer- I drove it a few times, very nicely outfitted- ventilated seats- Built in back window shades- Tons of power but here in Utah using 85 octane it was definitely pinging - Told them to get some better gas-

Sure, I missed that Scotty was quoting another member who commented about a friend's Explorer. Whatever. I stand by my statements of being against using this forum to call out people for being stupid in such a derogatory way and especially since the "friend' has no recourse in defending himself. If scotty wanted to merely say that the member's friend is being unreasonable or made a dumb decision, then fine. But to post a meme about stupidity targeting someone he doesn't even know seemed to me overkill. You want to call me out for trying to keep the forum civil, then fine.

I was on Twitter, I'm still on Threads and Instagram. When I want to see people insulted and made fun of (in a mean spirited way ) I go there. But I come here for civil conversation, general knowledge, random banter, polite disagreement, etc., and if there's any teasing it's welcomed by the recipient. I hope this doesn't turn into a place of insults and mean spirited responses even if aimed at a "non-member"
