What has your experience been with the Cross?
So far really good. My wife drives it 90% of the time and we don’t have a 1000 miles on it or the Maverick yet. I do like driving it and love safety sense 3.0. 40 plus mpg is nice as well.

We came out of a Mazda CX5 which we liked a lot but it did lack some of the latest safety tech. It makes me wish I would have gotten the advanced CO Pilot 360 with assist but I was afraid it would hurt my chances for the Mav.

I got everything on mine except the worthless sun roof. Took 10 months and 10 days.

This type of "nothing but Maverick allowed here" kind of thread gets posted from time to time. The forum has areas that are clearly marked for non-Maverick topics. Plenty of forum members and Maverick owners are interested in Tacoma, Santa Cruz, BEVs, Santa's Christmas Sleigh or whatever. Comparing and contrasting vehicles is all part of the process for lots of potential buyers.

So that's why there are Tacoma threads. As advised above, you have a mouse. And as the doctor famously said, "if it annoys you, don't click there".

Yup,comparing a 30 thousand dollar vehicle to a 40 thousand dollar vehicle.
To be fair there are a few suckers that probably paid 40k for a maverick. We’ve all seen the posts about 10 k mark ups.

Posts? Or the add's?

If posts, there are places for "non Maverick" vehicle discussions in this forum. If you don't want to see them, ignore that section.

Ford Maverick Toyota? Captur

But if referring to the ad's... I agree. It's a bit odd.

Posts...if I want info on Toyota I'd go to a Toyota site...not a Ford site.

I can see that to a point....but if i want info on a Ford...I should go to a Toyota forum? Seems counter productive.

I understand that bigtime. I actually admire Toyota the car company. They demonstrably and consistently make high quality vehicles. But I had two horrific experiences with Toyota dealers, and that soured me on the brand for life. I never walked into a T dealership afterwards. One Toyota dealership charged me $1,500 to replace a clutch and transmission (twice) and didn't solve the problem. At the other one, an immigrant salesman refused to return my keys until I stood up in the showroom and bellowed at the top of my lungs "Give me back my keys", getting the attention of every customer in the place. Slime dealerships (in MA by the way) both of them.

That's the unfair thing about our problematic franchise system of auto sales. The OEM gets crapped on because they are legally bound to dealerships. And if some dealerships are thieves and incompetents- that OEM can lose customers for life. And they have essentially zero control over that.

My wife had a Toyota Corolla when I met her. It was falling apart at 60K miles. Put her in a new AWD Fusion SEL and she never looked back.

As usual things not taken care of tend to fall apart, regardless of the brand. My experience is that how the owner treats something has more to do with the condition of a vehicle once it leaves the dealership lot than anything else. Of course, it has to be well made in the first place, and every brand has cars the roll off the line on Friday afternoon at the end of the shift. ;)

My 14 year old Camry was better made than my Maverick by a country mile. As were my other two Toyota's. I used to say I'd never buy a Ford. I should have listened to myself. :ROFLMAO: If the Maverick wasn't the perfect vehicle package for my needs, I never would have bought a Ford. It's the only reason I haven't sold it too. Once a real alternative from a non-American brand comes, this thing is going to the scrap yard known as the used car market.

Her car was only serviced at a Toyota Dealer, So I don't know what that says about Toyota service.

Not all dealers are created equally. Just look at people's experiences at Ford dealerships here. Everything from what sound like the best in the world, to some of the worst in the world. My Ford dealership was good, now under a new owner it is hopeless., all the good staff left. My Toyota dealer was great, also bought by the same company as the Ford dealership, now it is equally useless. The people and ownership of a dealership make all the difference in the world.
