To set up to flat tow the Maverick, the instructions say “keep the vehicle on for 3 minutes”. Does this mean the gas engine, the electric engine or either one?
I’m asking because my ford C Max needed to have the gas engine run for one minute…

hi, yes from what I understand you need to start the gas motor for 3 to 5 mins, each 6 hours of flat towing, keep your foot on the brake and shift thru the gears, this will lube them, you do not have to unhook, just place it back in flat tow mode when done. I have towed ours over 2000 miles on trips and have not had any problems. For the most part we do not tow more than 6 hours a day, lol. and BTW, to get the motor to start, just keep it in park, and press the gas pedal to the floor, hope this helps, have fun.

It would also require disconnecting any supplemental braking system in use I think. Obviously, after running the engine, reconnecting that system.

No reason at all to disconnect Auxiliary Braking systems. Floor mounted or otherwise. You don't have to mash the brake pedal but a little bit to get the truck to "start" and go back into neutral tow.
