I was communicating with my local dealer today about placing an order, the process, down payment, etc. He informed me this afternoon that Ford had advised them they could not take any additional orders for the 2022 Hybrid model (still accepting orders for gas models). But new Hybrid orders will have to wait until next year?

I went to test drive a Maverick demo at my dealership today. I asked my salesman if Ford had ceased '22 hybrid orders, and he said that was not his understanding as a customer ordered a hybrid from them yesterday. He speculated that Ford might be telling some dealers they can't take any more '22 hybrid orders due to their limited allocations.

Maybe it a dealer thing? I was able to place an order yesterday for a Hybrid at a local dealer. The only thing that they couldn't get was the spray in bedliner. Apparently Ford Canada, as of yesterday, changed the LUX package, and now it has the drop in bedliner, price for the package dropped $200. No sign of that on the Ford Canada site, but the dealer couldn't order it as shown on the website.

Hopefully they let a few more squeeze through, just send my hybrid build to the dealership this evening! 🤞

*Update* Just got my order confirmation from Ford this morning (11/8). Might be one of the last hybrids built for MY2022. Nothing to do now but wait...

I got the XLT w/ luxury package... the spray-in liner has been replaced with drop-in.

I wonder if these restrictions will impact changes to existing hybrid order. i.e. changing an xlt to lariat or other modifications

Great! I think this further supports that the OP's dealer was incorrect to say Ford had stopped hybrid orders. Ford is probably getting close to that, but for now it they appear to be cutting off dealers that don't have enough allocations.

It's just a matter of time.

Ford COULD sell WAAAY more Mavericks than they seem able/willing to build.

It will be up to Ford to decide whether to allow Maverick sales to overtake other models, as, say the Ranger, Escape, and/or EcoSport.

Did they say anything to you about the heated steering wheel? We ordered ours Saturday and we’re told heated steering is no longer available and just like you a drop in liner instead of spray in.

They didn't say and the DORA only lists a few items under the luxury package - hitch receiver, bed tie downs, power driver seat, drop-in bed liner - nothing else. Full size spare is a separate line item. Would be nice if they listed everything.

I never said that Ford was no longer taking Hybrid orders. As a matter of fact, the dealer wants me to put in my order ASAP. However, he says it willbe one of the first orders rolled over for next year production. I think this aligns fairly well with what some other posters have said about their recent orders: (that they wouldn’t be produced before next summer).
