I wish to install an RVI Towed Batter Charger to my Maverick hybrid toad. It seems easy enough except that I cannot find open holes that would allow wires to drop from the engine compartment down to the 6-pin. Has anyone here done that? How/where? Can it be done or do I need to take it to a pro to remove the grill for this otherwise simple job?

I tow behind motorhome and have wired up a battery maintainer to use while parked in my shop. Very simple setup and I ran my wires down along radiator. It is a tight area so I used a wire coat hanger to "fish" it along the edge. This will allow your wiring to come out just behind plastic grill, about anywhere you need it to. I just plug it in when I am not going to drive it for several days. Good luck!

Thank you 1st Sergeant. To be more clear, I am installing a charger for when towing and my issue is probably specific to the Maverick. The more I look and probe, the more convinced I get that the grille will have to come off. The openings that carry the existing wires (lights etc) and loom are too tight.

You may be right. Also, sounds like you may have more and larger diameter wires to run. Would be more of a challenge to run down the side of radiator I would think. "processwrench" just posted his method and that sounds like it might work for you! Good luck!

Go to etrailer and look up the video for baseplate installation on a Maverick. It shows how to remove the grill/ bumper assembly. It’s not that difficult. Then it is easier to see where to route wires.

i was was able to fish some wires through a crevice between the radiator housing and the drivers headlight. A very tight fit but doable. Installed a charge port and front camera. Here are photos but hard to get a decent shot of the wire route. Hope it helps.
